I'm just happy to make it through the first page without someone say "let's bring him in..........he can't be any worse than Carr"!

It's crazy that they have 50M in cap space mid season to allow Jones to be cut. Most teams would need to wait until the next league year and designate him a post-June1 cut.
Mara should fire GM Schoen. The three years of terrible OL and WR talent, lost of Barkley, and Jones' contract point to someone unable to adequately value talent. Daboll seems to be a solid HC who hasn't been given much.
At least Manning had skins on the wall. Jones, not so much.Eli Manning pouted and asked for his release after he was benched in favor of Daniel Jones.
Daniel Jones has now done the same thing.
Manning doesn't deserve any credit for being tough skinned in the same situation. He wasn't.
Noice!Understandable. Everyone knows that it’s hard to keep up with the Joneses.
The Giants quit on him. There’s 31 other teams and at least 5 that need a starting QB better than what they have currently (Dallas, Chicago, Jets, Carolina, Arizona, Colts).Daniel Jones remaining 2024 salary was guaranteed.
Similar to Carr, the Giants didn't want an injury to Jones at this point to cost them more in future guarantees.
I get the reasons the Giants made the moves to bench Jones if they decided they were moving on from him.
What I find disgraceful is for Jones to ask for his release. He basically quit on his team because he was butt hurt by everything including being relegated to 4th string QB and being asked to fill in as a backup safety on the scout team during team practice. It would have shown more of him to address his teammates and let them know he would do whatever was asked of him in order to be the best teammate he could possibly be. He could have taken the higher road and made it clear to everyone that he would assist the other quarterbacks in any way possible.
Egos in today's pro sports along with the millions they make allow them to take their ball and go home with it if things don't go their way.
I don’t know Daniel Jones personally and would allow the assumption that he is a good person overall but I don't like the optics of him requesting a release. That's just my .02.
He'll certainly get another chance in the league. It may come as soon as later this year if an injury occurs to a starter of a playoff bound team. And in that case he could be better than the current backup of one of those teams and possibly earn that teams starting job. Wouldn't that be something if a situation like that played out and he becomes a starting QB again before the end of the 2024 season and goes on to lead a team to victory in the playoffs.
Crazy things happen in today's world. Don't be surprised if you see Daniel Jones in uniform again this season.
LOL 1st you are under the mistaken impression that the QB and only the QB is responsible for W's and L'sI would love to see him in black and gold. I am not a fan of Carr. Never have been and never will.
I am the minority here and I am ok with it as I will say Jones is better than Carr.
And to the triggered, What has Carr accomplished with a longer career than Jones? Pretty sure Jones has a playoff win and Carr doesnt.
I would buy a Jones jersey today if he came to the black and gold.
Barkley felt disrespected and rightfully so they thought they could get the same production out of a lower-tier RB, and the Giants didn't match Philly's offerBarkley left for Philly. He never wanted to stay. Go watch the hard knocks and listen to the convo with Barkely and the GM of the giants. Listen to the later episode between the GM of the giants and his agent. They offered him a good contract the prior year he turned down.
My point is you are on to something. You can smell smoke the whole time and nobody thought there was a fire....but there was.
We have never seen Haener or really Rattler with a healthy 1st team. Not even in pre-season. No one knows if they can be startersI think if one sticks around as a backup they will be lucky. Haener seems to have more upside but I don’t see him ever being a full time starter.
OK for $500 and the win ===== you own a restaurantOff topic but Andy Dalton was in my establishment tonight with his children. Those dang kids talk loud. Well mannered, but they don’t use an inside voice.
You got clowned for that ???? Then I looked and saw who clowned you, it's a badge of honorJones has obviously struggled in New York, but he seems like the kind of guy that if he's put in the right system could be a mid-level starter. He's got size, running ability, and the arm. He might just need a system that fits him better like Darnold and Mayfield.
I would not be shocked to see Carolina sign him if they don't like the QBs in the draft.
I'd have done the same thing, get a jump on FA AND if a team loses a QB the rest of the season he could step inNot a fan of how he's doing. I understand players get upset when they get benched but he could have waited till the end of the season to request a release. From the eyes of fans it sounds like he just quitting. But like I always say.... Not my team and not my concern.
I still think Jones could become a good QB. Impossible to say on that team. If they had kept Barkley with Nabors and another year of fixing the offensive line and we might have known. Jones best bet will be QB2 on an established team for a few years. No line. No playmakers. Horrible coach. Yep. It's Jones.
No, but good guess thoughOK for $500 and the win ===== you own a restaurant
