Gonna need to bring it against the Rams! (10 Viewers)

I love that we have a bye to prepare and our staff was able to spend yesterday concentrating on how the Eagles rolled the Rams.

Toughest matchup for rest of the year? I’d agree if we didn’t have to play the Packers in a few weeks in Lambeau. Don’t know how you can get much tougher than that.

Next Sunday is no joke. This is a season defining game and the toughest remaining one on the schedule. Third in a row at home. Going for three straight since Rizzi took over. This Rams defense creates pressure with front 4. And what I still consider to be an elite QB in this league. It’s gonna take 4 quarters of effort and mistake free football to give us a shot to win this one. I still believe!!! Let’s pack the dome and give em 60 minutes of hell!!!
While this will be a massive uphill climb for the Saints, the Packers are arguably the toughest opponent followed by the Rams. And the Packers are a Monday Night game so once again, our Saints get to be embarrassed on national TV. Grrrrrrr!!

I don't see the Saints winning this one either. They are just going to be outmatched by a very talented Rams squad. Their wide receivers are too much for the Saints corners and Stafford can thread any needle. The Saints were feeling the fire for the Falcons win and they beat a very bad Browns team. The Rams are a different team. This is a good football team.

Yes, the Rams have some weaknesses but I just don't see the Saints beating this team. As stated earlier, the season has been defined by a fired head coach, a shipped out star corner back and the national media basically placing a black cloud over the organization for years to come. Wonderful..........

Yeah, I’m worried we can’t stop the Rams offense with no Paulson Adebo or Marshon Lattimore.

Plus, their Edge rusher is so fast it will be hard for Kamara and Hill to get going.
Adebo was playing terrible. Lattimore on the other hand would be invaluable if healthy. Need to run the ball and control the clock.

The Rams have a defensive line that likes to get pressure, their LBs are finesse and their secondary is young. We should go with a heavy dose of the running game and a lot of 2 TE sets. Out physical them like the Eagles did. Control the clock and keep their offense off the field. Kyren Williams fumbles quite a bit so Mathieu might get him a FF.

The Saints D will have their hands full with Puca and Kupp, especially if we don’t get pressure on Stafford.

Yup, I think for the Saints to have a chance the pass rush is going to have to step up....possibly create turnover(s).....Offensively, we need a nice run/pass balance and try to stay out of obvious passing situations...

I sure wish that Rizzi had a full complement of players available to see how well he can really prepare and motivate the Saints to play winning football against the tougher teams in the league. It’s hard to judge him with what’s left of our roster. 😢
It’s not hard to judge them. If Vandy without elite players can play like a team and beat quality Sec opponents, then you’ll realize that the coaching staff plays a huge part. I’ll agree with you that an elite Qb is needed. But regardless, this is the type of game you want Rizzi to face, to determine the Saints future. We want a coach that can coach thru adversity. Right? Even DA won with a full squad.

Oh, I totally agree. If Rizzi is able to get this rag tag bunch ready for such a big game it would say even more about him as a head coach than if he had a roster full of All Pros on his squad.

But I still wish the odds weren't so stacked against him simply due to the fact that this matchup could amount to an elimination game unless the Falcons & Bucs go into total choke mode. I just wish he had more to work with this weekend. But as they say... that's why they play the game. :9:

I'm not expecting a win, I'm hoping the Saints play the Rams tough. For the rest of the season I'm looking at how motivated the team plays, thier ability to keep games close and also if they can play disciplined
I'm expecting wins.

This is ateam that was being held back by DA's passiveness and lack of energy, not because our roster don't compare well to other teams. We're as talented as the Rams, and Eagles for that matter.

i know he was having a rough year but still nice to know he’s there. gonna be a rookie this week as our 3-4 corners i believe. i actually hope rico is healthy

I agree, but to date we really have not been able to put much pressure on any of the QB's we faced. I hope the DL can find some spark, particularly on the outside. If we can, and that is a big IF, I think we can make it a competitive game.
