Great article from Underhill looking into the mind of Kellen Moore (60 Viewers)

I've been a huge supporter of upgrading the TE position, and I still am.

However, look at the TEs Moore has worked with. None of them are stars. It looks like he can take a complete TE and use him effectively. Moreau is a complete TE. I think Moore can elevate Moreau's usage and production.

Now, if we add a better TE, great, but Moore looks like he can elevate these guys.

We saw JJ slowing shift back to a Big WR down the stretch and he got better as he did. He looks like he's lost some of that extra weight he put on to play TE.

Moore has shown he can use a Big WR. JJ is not a dynamic Big X, but he can play it. He's bigger than Noah Brown, but he could be that role in Moore's offenses.

WR1 Tet/Tre Harris/Higgins or Savion Williams - Big X
WR2 - Olave - Y/Z
WR3 - Shaheed -Y/Z/Playmaker
WR4 - JJ - Big X, running plays, Big personnel packages
WR5 - Means - X/Y/Z, see where he develops best. He's young, talented and does the dirty work. Not afraid to go across the middle.
WR6 - Kevin Austin Jr. - X/Y/Z, see where he develops best. He's young, talented and does the dirty work. Not afraid to go across the middle.

I also like the idea of Jack Bech or Pat Bryant. Both are similar size and skills sets which are similar to Means and KAJr.

That leaves Moreau and Holker at TE and room to add one of these TEs from the draft.
In 2021 Moore had the #1 O , he had Schultz @ TE , he's better than any TE we have. in 21 he caught 78 passes for 800 yds and 8TDs . So yes he did have a very good almost star TE

JJ is too slow to be an X and is not really much of a contested catch guy.

Taysom is a matchup nightmare. I imagine things are a lot easier with him on the field. On the other hand, Kubiak was dealing with a backup QB and 0 WRs most of the time without Taysom. I think he's a really good OC that got burnt with injuries and situation. Hope the best for him.
I think seattle recognized that

Let's look at that with context. Yes he will have just turned 35 at the start of next yr. But, he really didn't start playing till 2018, so he's only been playing for 7yrs. He's had 536 touches from scrimmage, so he's avg 77 touches a YEAR. Hardly any wear and tear on him. He's never been called on to be a large portion of our offense and never will. Nowhere have I heard any talk of TH retiring , only that he's rehabbing well. TH takes very good care of himself much like AK.

I expect an offensive savant like Moore to use him even more creatively than Kubiak did

The context is at 35 he is an injury waiting to happen, unfortunately.....if he is available then by all means give him some touches, just don't rely on him being available as a big part of the game plan, like the last jokers did....

Warren is a 4.68 guy... unofficially
Tayson is a 4..4 guy...

Warren may not look as good in the NFL as he does in college!

Gadsden athletically is closest to T. Hill...

You think he's still running a 4.4?

This board is schizoid about Taysom Hill. Some think he isn’t used enough, others that he’s getting older and is fragile, others that he might be older but doesn’t have much mileage. I generally believe that the truth usually lies in the middle—but that’s with only two standpoints.

Maybe the blocking type snaps should be dialed back a bit. He’s a fantastic decoy, but we need him on the field doing Taysom things.

Both sides are correct & his cap hit is getting pretty steep!
