I'm going to bet that you sadly overestimate how many American's can pronounce that, much less know who he is. I'm going to guess it's not many more than can pronounce Fyodor Dostoevsky or know who he is.

people pronounce the Muses the way they heard them pronounced and that's probably was well before they did a deep dive into Homer and Sophocles - and even then a teacher should be like 'this is the way we think this word was pronounced 2500 years ago'
but the question posed by the videos is more 'can you say Ka-le-O-pe when it's the muse and Kally-OPE when it's the street?'

also it's Cl10 not Clio

I will cede on the fact that it is CL10.
 
i was blessed with Francis as a middle name-------when it comes up (normally in a legal matter) i insist it's pronounced fran-KIS'.

They quickly move on
