In camp it was Hill vs Winston. Hill looking like he would be the starter one week. Then Jameis looking like he would be the starter next. It was neck and neck. What seemed like SP didn’t even know who he would start until the final preseason game.

I’m curious why there is a debate on who we are now starting. If Hill is healthy and ready to go why Siemian? Did he do that much in the bucs game to name him a starter? imo no, the bucs bailed him out on many drives.

We beat the falcons with hill last season. Excited to do it again with any QB!

Jameis and Hill was not neck and neck in training camp. Sorry. Hill just isn't starter material. Trevor is a natural QB.

And as far as that Falcons squad goes, I could've smoked them and I'm closer to 50 than I am to 40.

Hill NEVER looked like he was the starter in comparison to Winston it was all semantics. Siemian entered the game and executed the offense something we've seen Hill do before but Siemian showed touch and an ability to find a passing window and though only one game appeared to scan the field and get and find his second, third and even fourth reads.

This offense does not need a super star quarterback to win, just a heady player with a natural natural feel for the passing game.

There are some aspects (not a shot against Winston) of Seimians game that made the offense flow naturally with his touch and pocket presence that makes people want to see more of him.

He gets the ball in the playmakers hands and that's really what Payton wants from his quarterbacks

This is it in a nutshell for me. Hill simply hasn't shown that he can make enough reads. Seems like if his primary option isn't there, it's either take off and run or take the sack.

Siemian came in cold tied in the second quarter vs. the defending Super Bowl champions and looked halfway decent.

He got bailed out of a really bad throw by penalty and one drive was saved by Bucs penalties, but he looked calm, in control, and was throwing with some anticipation.

Because of the severity of the head injury to Taysom, I don't think it's a bad strategy to see Siemian for one game after getting #1QB reps all week. Taysom will still be there next week, and I think Siemian earned the second look.

Some of you are acting as if Hill bullied you in high school. Give him a chance. He did good last year and Winston wasn't exactly striking fear in anyone either.
Yikes... He only played good against the Dumpster Fire Falcons and that was it...

It was neck and neck for quite some time. Jameis didn't start to slowly pull away until about the time pre-season started and then when he threw those 2 TDs to Callaway against Jacksonville is when there was no doubt he had earned the starting job. I'm not saying this will be indicative of how Taysom does as starter now, but he was right there with Jameis in training camp for a good while.

Why the discussion?

Let alone that Siemian took over in a game in which his drives produced 22 points, Taysom has had a concussion which put him out for 3 weeks now.

That sounds like such serious damage that you can’t put him under center nor let him play his ST army knife role.

Iam really concerned about his health status. Never heard of a 3 week concussion
And its not his first either
