Hill vs Siemian why is there a debate? (1 Viewer)

It was neck and neck for quite some time. Jameis didn't start to slowly pull away until about the time pre-season started and then when he threw those 2 TDs to Callaway against Jacksonville is when there was no doubt he had earned the starting job. I'm not saying this will be indicative of how Taysom does as starter now, but he was right there with Jameis in training camp for a good while.

And yet showed nothing on the field in game time. Jameis did more with the second and third team than Hill did with the first team in the first preseason game and just killed it with the starters in the 2nd game. So much so that coach pulled him early. Then we dealt with Taysom looking lost after that.

We really need to stop trying to force square peg Taysom into the round hole that is a starting QB position.

Why the discussion?
Let alone that Siemian took over in a game in which his drives produced 22 points, Taysom has had a concussion which put him out for 3 weeks now.

That sounds like such serious damage that you can’t put him under center nor let him play his ST army knife role.

Iam really concerned about his health status. Never heard of a 3 week concussion
And its not his first either
Tyrell Williams of the Lions sustained a concussion in week 1 and still hasn't returned to the field. Detroit ended up putting him on IR.

Like I said, that was when it was finally decided (not until the Jacksonville pre-season game) that Jameis had earned the staring job; so he was pulled early. Trying to say that the QB competition wasn't very close for most of training camp is just trying to rewrite history

AMEN AMEN BROTHER!!! Couldn't have said it any better. At least not without being banned!!!

Siemian came in cold tied in the second quarter vs. the defending Super Bowl champions and looked halfway decent.
This^ was the impressive part for me. Mentally he wasn't overwhelmed by having to come in and direct our offense. This (to me) is proof that he was prepared to lead the team even though he didn't get the kind of reps that he will get in practice this week. Whether starting or not, I trust that he will be even more prepared this week if/when his name is called. It was a tough situation to come into this past Sunday and he certainly handled himself well. I'm not convinced he won't start or see some opportunities against Atlanta this Sunday. We all know how Sean likes to rotate QBs to keep the opponents off balance. It'll be interesting to see what transpires this week.

Yikes... He only played good against the Dumpster Fire Falcons and that was it...
I posted this in another thread:
I don’t get why people are so quick to dismiss Taysom as QB. We all hate what happened to Jameis, but when Taysom started last year we went 3-1. Jameis this year had us at 4-2. Taysom had more yards per game and a much higher completion percentage last year than Jameis had this year. Taysom last year’s completion percentage was 72.7 percent. Jameis this year was 59 percent.

There's a debate bcuz after 4 yrs of prepping, Hill still isn't quite starting QB material... simple as that
Whether Hill is true QB material or not, this statement is just not completely true. He has not had 4 years of prepping as just a QB. It has been said over and over how many different meeting rooms he has to be in during the week because of all his roles. He also has never gotten full backup preparation snaps in practice for the same reason. The only time he got full practice snaps was when DB was out and Hill started some games.

Tough to believe this with reports and Taysom starting over Jameis last season.

No need to say sorry lol I’m not trying to be bias over any of the QBs
Sean promised Hill a shot if Drew got hurt. He gave it to him. If he played Winston last year he wouldn’t be in New Orleans today, because they wouldn’t of been able to sign him back.

Taysom is probably gone next year anyway. No way he can play on that contract unless he takes an EXTREME pay cut so wjhen we release him he may choose to try find someone willing to let him play QB.

I'm going to let CSP make that decision.
1. He has up-to-the-minute updates on the concussion.
2. If Hill isn't taking snaps with the 1's this week, CSP has already made his decision.
3. He will watch practice this week and make the decision he thinks gives us the best chance to win.
