Hot Takes Welcome (Post Commanders Loss) (1 Viewer)

We still need a QB, and apparently haven’t invested enough resources at OL (somehow). Both of our QB’s took a beating.

N/S: Not wishing it on him, but I worry about Daniels suffering a lower leg injury by trying to carry these defensive line players on his back, usually ends up sacked anyway with less opportunity to protect himself.

Washington is a better team across the board, but the Saints showed some heart at the end.

Haener's days are done vying for the starting job in New Orleans. He clearly cannot translate practice success into games, which is unfortunate for him. I am fine that we gave him the shot, but this is Rattler's job now clearly.

We've got to figure out the run game. Our draws are our only effective runs; it takes misdirection to keep our backs from getting blown up in the backfield. Rough work by the O-line.

Rattler is going to get more effective when he has more time and rapport with better than a patchwork receiving corp. You can see it, the guy has a live arm. The final play of the game, he put that ball in a spot where we could win it, but that ball is thrown harder than any of our other QBs could throw it, so it's not surprising our receivers are going to drop some of these. This is a continuity problem (the revolving door at QB and revolving receiver group).

Miller is playing hard, glad to have him healthy.

Defense quietly had a pretty acceptable day. They managed to contain both JD and Robinson as rushers, which is a stark difference from the rest of this season where RBs and QBs have their way running all over our defense.

Rizzi is doing the job I expect for a respectable head coach. Time management was handled as well as could be expected. Going for two was the right momentum play at the end the game there.

lots to like about rattler but it’s not going to be a meteoric rise. He needs to put in the snaps. Honestly he should have started today. He should be the starter going into next season. Spicy take I know and many will say you gotta go with Carr. I’m here to tell you that between the injuries and the consistent sub par performances against winning teams that Carr is toast and sticking with him is just going to keep rattler from getting the snaps he needs to develop. It’s going to be a long time before this team is competitive and that’s 100% on Mickey for creating this situation. Keep Carr as a backup for at least another season and as a reminder of just how bad Loomis managed this roster. And never let it happen again.

People might mad etc. But I'm excited... this is the best QB we've had since Brees to put us within range to win and the receiver dropped the ball. Yeah.. rattler is our guy.

Rattler is our future
Rattler will lead us to greatness.

totally understand going for the 2 there … it’s an untimed down at the 2. You make it…you win!

However, I think it’s also fair to say it was shortsighted on Rizzi’s part.

You just scored a TD on the last play of the game. The defense has been playing well and the crowd was jacked.

Why not kick it to OT and see what happens?

Take the immediate pressure off your rookie who just drove the field for a TD at the clock strike.

Get a chance to settle back and see how the next 10 mins play out for your season.

Again, I get why you go for it, but I also think it robbed Rattler of a chance to play an important OT when he’d already answered the bell with a TD pass at the buzzer.
