Hot Takes Welcome (Post Commanders Loss) (6 Viewers)

I don't think Rattler is better QB then Carr right now. Carr is not the QB of the future but if you care about winning now he is, at least in my opinion, the better QB.

I would rather move on from Carr and let Rattler start because I know Carr is not the long term answer and I would rather suck and find out what we have with Rattler, then have another 2 years of mediocrity with Carr.
I agree and Carr having the experience is a huge difference between him and Rattler. The sample size is too small to just anoint Rattler as the DeFacto starting QB as much as many would seem to love that, there is a process. I need to see more of him than just a few games here and there.

I do however feel good about him being the number 2 coming out of camp if he can hold onto that spot for another year. It's his first year so the talent is there it will take time. I do agree with you that if you care about winning now Carr is the answer. If you want to rip the band aid off and just start a rebuild Rattler would be the way to go. If history tells us anything Loomis is not and will not strip it down, he is going to try to be in a win mode now until he is gone.

I do agree with all of the points you brought up. In a perfect world it would be amazing to have Rattler just take off and never look back but that's not the norm and he will go through growing pains every young QB does, you have to have the right team in place to cover for him in at times when her does struggle.

Saints defense had eight sacks against Washington on Sunday. But yet, Washington only punted 3 times. Washington was 9 for 17 on third down and 1 for 1 on fourth down. One would hope a sack kills a drive. But in this case, the Saints defense could not get off the field. Washington made a first downs on third and 8, 9, 9 and 14 yards. Defense has trouble with QB's who can run. Hopefully they can correct this next year.

Hot takes:

Haener will not be a Saint after 2024.
Rattler is a good backup QB in the NFL.
Kendre Miller is a really good running back.
Darren Rizzi might just be the permanent head coach in New Orleans.
The Saints are still a long way, a LLOOOOONNNNGGGGG way from becoming a playoff contender. Like years away.
The Commanders will lose in the first round of the playoffs.

Would be nice to employ a spy on a QB like that in those situations.

I’m good with going for it. We win great. We lose we go up in draft order.
I think we went down from 9 to 10

If we had won we would be in a 5 way tie with 6 wins and could be down to 16th depending on tie breakers like our win over Dallas who is 6-8

To go higher than 9-10 in draft we need to loose out or loose more than Jets and Bears

There are 7 2-3 win teams that probably won’t win 2 -3 games to get over 5

Yup, I felt the same way....I liked the call to go for it, we had some momentum, just didn't work out. Rattler missed a wide open guy in the back of the EZ.....
Jayden Daniels looked pretty unimpressive today.

I'll take an unimpressive JD all day over what we have.....despite the hype he has been more efficient than flashy and IMO that wins games.....can't remember the last time Washington was 9-5.....

As far as the game

As badly as we need an impact player on defense especially on the back half the oline may be a bigger need despite the high draft picks

We need guards
Yes,I totally agree. It doesn't matter who plays QB,RB or WR,if there's constant pressure(especially up the middle) nothing's getting done on offense.

Hot take.. rattlier should be qb #1 next season...

That said, also hot take...

Haener and Rattler aren't really far apart.. penalties against and dropped passes for Haener, penalties for and a caught pass and a dropped pick for Rattler equals a 7% completion improvement..

Earlier this year Rattler starting and stinking it up and Haener coming in gave us a jolt, opposite happened this time. Its as if Klint Kubiak kind of sucks as a OC.

I think overall it was a good day for the franchise. We were able to answer some questions about Haener and eliminate him from the discussion going forward, and we saw some sparks from Rattler that will keep him in the discussion. In the end they lost, but the team played hard and fought down to the wire, giving the fans an entertaining game. You want to see the team fight and not fold, and I appreciated the effort on the field.
