Hot Takes Welcome (1 Viewer)

Hot Take #2: I told my wife we were going to lose the game after the Shaheed muff. I said, "Our def just got off the field on the first drive and this happens?!? This game will have multiple fluke plays just like this that will cause us to lose."

NGL, I thought after we went down and scored 2 straight TD's on long sustained drives and kept them to FG's, I might have been wrong. Boy did they prove me right...

Hot Take:

We are a loser franchise. From the top down. We had one great season where we won it all. Literally every other season has ended in abject disappointment. Even the 2006 team that got us to the NFCCG, only to allow one of the worst QBs I have ever seen on a winning team to CONTINUOUSLY find and abuse Fred Thomas on defense to win the game. We can't stay healthy, our coaches make some of the dumbest decisions you've ever seen, our players are undisciplined and make stupid decisions in crucial times, and the officials are often set against us.

Regular season winning means nothing if you crap the bed in the playoffs; which is what we do more times than not. When everything is on the line, you can count on the Saints to disappoint you, year in and year out. Now, we may not even make the post-season to crap the bed because we are crapping the bed in the regular season, in typical Saints culture fashion by failing.

If there is a probability-busting way to lose, we WILL find it. We are losers and it permeates the culture here. How many times have you seen us lose a game that we should have won, with the lead under 2 minutes? I'd wager we are on the far end of that bell curve and not in a good way. Again, we are losers. And it sucks.

EVERY SINGLE TIME THE MEDIA JUMPS ON OUR BANDWAGON we disappoint the media, the fans, and the team. We don't know how to win consistently because as soon as we do, we either come out flat or come out and get injured.
I was going to post along these points after last weeks loss.
The Saints, except for their SB season, are a jinxed organization.
Heartbreak after heartbreak.
Frustration and then more frustration.
Anger heaped upon anger.
I am truly surprised that there are forum members here who defend Coach Allen. This is season 3 under him, and the ineptitude of the team from his previous 2 seasons has picked up right where it left off.
Losses that should have never happened except for DA's poor coaching decisions.
Inexplicable coaching decisions.
Ridiculous coaching decisions.
3 years in a row.
I think part of the reason some are pro-Allen is because he is a nice guy.
No one is questioning his character.
But there is no questioning his ability to be a professional head coach --
he has none.

People trying to convince me that this team is a serious contender…. Is like someone trying to convince me to eat my absolute favorite food, but to ignore the booger on top of it.

Meh... There are quite a few franchises in the NFL that could say the same thing. If recent history has told us anything, it's that you need a Top Tier QB and HC to breed sustained success. We don't have either of those rn.

But yeah, we win in spite of DA not bc of him. When everything is going well, he doesn't really get in the way. But when adversity sets in, he doesn't have that IT factor to make decisions to give us best chances for success. Same with Carr. Neither can will the team to a win.

That's it ... he ain't got "it." 😊

for real tho. I remember seeing the video of his first presser, or speech to the team or something, and thinking "This guy is going to inspire success???" He was so mediocre I felt less of a man for having watched it.

For the soccer fans in here: He's the Gregg Berhalter of the NFL

exactly

I have no idea who Gregg Berhalter is, but I feel sorry for the fans of the soccer team he is coaching, if he is still coaching them.

this begs the question ...
would you eat a plate of your favorite food if it had one of your own boogers on it ?
Absolutely.

That’s not even a real question tho right? Maybe I’m hard core as I watched my Dad pick roaches out of cereal and continue eating as a kid. Lol kept chewing the roaches already in his mouth too.

Instead of Kool Aid in the 2nd round the pick should have been a TE. Kool Aid is hardly playing while maybe a TE would be. Yes Taysom s listed as a TE but that is BS. Moreau cannot block and Johnson is nowhere to be found in the red zone
How bout we keep Koolaid because we’ve already needed him and he played well. But last year instead of Foskey we take that TE!
