How would you feel with Jaxson Dart at 9? (4 Viewers)

I agree but also recognizing perceptions and draft value can change.

Bo Nix ascended the board and then when drafted, there were a number of observers who thought it was a reach. He was the second best rookie QB this season.

None of that is a reflection of my current opinion of Dart - really just don't know enough about him.

Granted. Should Dart tear up the combine and build momentum between now and April, my feelings could change. I saw him play a few times last season and is worth consideration -- just not for the ninth pick of the draft. But Dart is a third-rounder for me right now. ... Let's face it, it's not a killer QB class like last year. Even Ward and Sanders aren't sure things the way Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams were last year. ... We're too desperate at multiple other positions to take a gamble on reaching for a QB at No. 9 overall. That would be a luxury gamble we simply can't afford with the current overall roster.

Oh, I agree. I'm not enamored with this QB class, either. I'm really hoping that there's something to Rattler. Even holding out some hope still for Haener. All of this gets a lot easier if it turns out you have your future QB already on the roster.

If Moore took Dart at 9 and WR Jayden Higgins from Iowa State or Tre Harris of Ole Miss in the 2nd round what would you think?

I do think Kyle Mccord QB from Syracuse is a legit 2nd round talent though.

To me, that would be an even bigger reach than when Atlanta drafted Penix 8th overall last season. Maybe it turns out to be a hit for them, who knows, but Dart isnt even on Penix’s level. If we actually went w/Dart at 9, people would attempt to sprinkle a positive spin on it, but it would be exactly what it looks like it is. W/guys like TMac, Mike Green, Mason Graham, Will Johnson & Walter Nolan potentially still on the board, that would be a total BUMMER…Dart reminds me of Blake Bortles.

McCord, Dart and Will Johnson (who seemingly came out of nowhere), would be my Tier 2. But I still wouldn’t mind seeing what we already have on the roster under new coaching if that’s what KM decides he wants to do.

I could like Dart @40, but no way at 9. He may turn out to be amazing, but WR, OT, D, all seem to have higher grades for that spot.

Kind of seems like JJ McCarthy from last year. People were initially talking about him in the third round, but then shut up the draft board.

If Kellen Moore likes him, then I love him.

Graham won't make it past NE at #4 if he makes it that far. Vrabel played with Vince Woolfork and coached
Jeffrey Simmons. He knows how important a stud DT is to the defense.

You know what I say to this idea. No way. Take Kyle McCord in the 3rd round and use the first 2 rounds to draft OL and DL.

McCord will be better than Dart and if we are lucky, someone will fall to us at 9 that another team is crazy for and trades a bunch of picks to get him. Say Jeanty and the Cowboys. Move from 9 to 12 and get another 2nd and 4th round pick maybe?

If it weren’t for the adversity Rattler faced — coaching changes, the harshest overall, teamwide injury spree the Saints have ever faced (by far) — I would likely agree with you. But I don’t believe Rattler (or Haener for that matter) stood a chance last season because of the turmoil they faced. I’m willing to give them a year under KM and Co. before making a final decision on them.

Sad, Lane Kiffen couldn't manage a close game to save his life or that Dart kind of vanishes in those close games too. Would of been nice to see Dart in the playoffs.

If LSU fans are bias, then you are just as bias. As a matter of fact, you are consistently bias. You wanted to take Corral, who went at #94 in the third round, at #16, then take a WR with the next pick then too.

I never said I wasn’t a little biased. In fact I’ll say that I am more than a little biased. I am also SEC biased so while I am a Ole Miss fan I will gladly take a top ranked LSU player to my favorite NFL team.

Moreover, the article actually quotes Mahomes saying he would be taken at pick 12 or below.

The Saints picked at 11.
