I understand Mickey's point of view, but with the Ram injury and losing your staring LT in Peat, the entire line is going to have to change anyway. And, given that we are moving to a new scheme which will require starting all over in learning to play together, now is a good time to get better/young talent on the OL and let them learn together.

I doubt Bowers gets past 10. I think there is a 50% chance either Bowers or Olu is there at 14 and a very good chance one is there at 11. I can also see us moving up 2-3 spots for Bowers or Olu.

I think Bowers shows unique RAC ability. Would you trade up to 11 to draft a very good to elite TE/slot prospect at 14? Would you draft him over OT2?

Agreed and this is the information that we don't have. I think we would have been more aggressive in the OT market, if they didn't think Penning and/or Saldiveri were progressing to be starters, especially Penning. Teams don't want to go into the draft with a need, then that forces a pick for need and not BPA/need. Penning/Saldiveri/McCoy/Ruiz/Ram(?) gives them the option to draft a RT which is much easier to find and expecially find later than having to use pick 14. That frees them up to draft Bowers.

Again, that's an estimated time. He didn't run any testing at either of the Georgia Pro Days (see tweet below). His last recorded time in the 40 was a 4.5 as a Sophomore in High School. Which is why I provided all the supporting evidence of his elite explosiveness in my previous post with his elite ability to make big plays that has dwarfed even Kyle Pitts ability to make big plays when combining his College/NFL career's (6 seasons).

Brock Bowers is rated by the vast majority of media, draftniks, and scouts that have commented on him as an elite TE prospect that is up there with the best TE prospects. He finds himself in a unique position in this draft with the sheer amount of QB's expected to go early along with 3 WR's that are also expected to go top 10. In most drafts Bowers is a sure fire top 10 pick. This draft "might" work out differently due to unique circumstances.

It doesn't matter who you ask, even the guys who are fans of Bowers, they'll tell you...he's not a freak at TE. Whether you want to call that elite, generational, whatever you are tying your argument to...Bowers isn't THAT level of talent.

It's not saying he isn't a talent...it's just saying he's not a freak guy. You can find a ton of 6'3 243 TE's in drafts with his arm length and size. You can't find as many of them having great success in the NFL. It is what it is man, I don't know how else you want to hear it lol.

Bowers has generational level talent for the position. There are very few elite TE's in the NFL. I think TE is the most undervalued position in the league by teams. The only player that could possibly be sitting there at our slot I would pick ahead of him is Penix.

They like Bowers A LOT. They like Fuaga, Fashanu, and Latham. They like Thomas. They love McCarthy but he won’t be there. But…a surprise would be Penix. More fans than I anticipated as I didn’t think of him as a natural fit in the offense. There are others they like on the o-line but I don’t think at #14.

Ever since Jimmy Graham left we've had a huge hole in that position. And yes it can be a bust, but so can any of these QB's that will go high and that won't prevent the teams there from taking him.

If Jared Cook doesn't fumble the ball, Brady doesn't get it 7th ring and we might have another. Tired of this position being ignored.

That’s not true though. There are a ton of people saying he is THAT level of talent. For example, he was clocked at 21.9 mph on his 89 yard touchdown by RAanalytics. To my knowledge that is the fastest time they have ever recorded by a TE. He has freakish speed for someone that is 240+ lbs. I also stand corrected on his prior 40 time out of high school, it was 4.48, which according to NFL Draft Buzz for TE’s would place him in the 98th percentile. That combined with a documented 40” vertical is absolutely freakish and rare to find.
