I Don't Think Many People Want Our OC Position (1 Viewer)

I didn't know that. Read the timestamps, you goof
Do you not read the first page of the SSF? Ronald Curry and Jerrod Johnson have already interviewed, and Brian Johnson is about to. Their threads are literally on page 1.

I expect both better reading and better comportment from a forum moderator. If I replied how I want to I’d get thrown in the box, so instead I’ll let you have the insult you unnecessarily aimed at me.

What does that have to do with their ethnicity if I don't know them? I don't know the ethnicity of either person. I'm not friends with these people. That's why I asked a simple question. Calling you a goof is hardly an insult, but you're getting upset over something trivial.

Could at least apologize for being needlessly rude when I got my question answered by other users that had zero issues with it. I spend most of my time on the pelicans forum nowadays. I don't know what to tell you.

One regular season win is the difference between right decision to retain DA and this organization isn't even trying and want mediocrity because they decided to keep DA because he won 9 games instead of 10?

I thought they should have moved on from DA last year and I saw nothing this year to convince me that keeping him for another year is a good idea. One more regular season win wasn't going to change that. I playoff win would have given me pause.

1 win, 1 loss can often be the difference in making the playoffs or not....again, charmin weak schedule, awful division, got his QB, and still couldn't get it done....

Even under the circumstances, had he led the Saints to a playoff berth, I think that should earn him another year.....

I wanted him gone last year also....

As I recall, CSP had 3 consecutive losing seasons after catching lightning in a bottle in 06. DA has had one.

Incorrect, can you stop with these ridiculous comparisons, they are just....silly.....

if it gets the posters to stop whining incessantly, i'm willing to try

Sneaky Pete didn’t want it allegedly, he had to be persuaded.

According to Underhill, that is not how it went down. Nick said that Pete did want the job, but the Saints slow played him while looking at other OC options, including Liam Cohen. When the Saints could not get Cohen, or the other few guys they liked better than Pete, they went back to Pete and offered him the job. I think the way the rumor that he didn't want the job started is that Pete was considering taking a year off from coaching if he did not get the Saints OC job and people thought it was that he was going to take a year off until the Saints convinced him to take the OC job.

Two of the people the Saints have interviewed, Kubiak and Griese, are both unable to be hired because the team they currently work for is going to the Super Bowl.

So far the only OC hire that has actually bummed me out is Zac Robinson. He has a lot of potential and is going to the division rival.

They're interviewing Brian Johnson today. If nothing happens today/this week, I'd assume the Saints are waiting until after the Super Bowl.

Is it a rule that you can't hire an assistant from a team in the playoffs until they are out? I thought the rule for SB assistants was you could hire in the first week after the Championship games but not during Super Bowl week? But, maybe that changed recently?

If you really can't hire until after the Super Bowl, that is a really sheetty rule for those coaches. By then most positions are going to be filled unless a team is willing to really risk it and/or already have a nod and a wink deal in place.

We requested permission and also interviewed a handful of very talented and qualified guys including a bunch from the McVay/Shanahan coaching tree, but it doesn't seem like any of these guys want to come to come here. I think this is why we keep interviewing. It's not because we are doing our due diligence, it's because we keep getting turned down.
It's smart not to rush this. I don't think many have been hired at all, right? Interviews are also a time to get more perspectives, as well.

I think if we were getting turned down, you'd hear that leaked eventually.

I forgot they did change the rule, however the original team must give consent to their hiring during the postseason, then a coach can be hired to a new team while still working for their previous team in the playoffs.

However we just don't see it happen, and I think it is just because it is a bit of bad form to announce that sort of thing during the playoffs.

Imagine the 2020 Saints playoff run and the day after beating the Bears, we see the alcons twitter announce Ryan Nielsen as their Defensive Coordinator. This place would be a mess lol.

I can certainly see the issue if they have a game the next week. But this week is a dead week with only the Senior Bowl and Pro-Bowl being played next weekend. It seems like guys should be allowed to take jobs this week.

Okay Nostradamus, can you tell us exactly when event happens so we can all place our life savings with bookie? The date would be fine but the time would really be appreciated.
I assure you. I possess no extra sensory abilities that any other ordinary person could also acquire. DA has a robust body of work with 2 separate teams.
