I get it that he hasn't progressed as desired.

But, I would really like to reserve final judgement on him if he plays with the starters. My guess is that he looks much better.

Just sayin.....this probably happens to Q2 and Q3 in all teams. They are judged based on how they play with team 3.

Of course, the counter argument is that the are not playing the oppositions team 2/3 as well....

Like another thread asked……why do we care so much? He is what he is. He is performing exactly how I expected him to. For his sake, I wish he was playing better, but I didn’t expect much. Personally, I mainly worry about QB1 and QB2 for the most part.

But...but...he's short. And he has a birthmark!

I gave him the benefit of the doubt last year vs Miami, but have seen zero evidence of Book getting better. He plays sloppy and frenetic, is wildly inconsistent, but most disappointing is that he has almost ZERO pocket presence.

The slightest bit of pressure often compels him to run or move off his throwing platform. I also get the impression that the stage is too big for him. I was hoping for some signs of growth and him getting better, but I just don’t see it.

Not to mention he is dangerous to play for he throws his guys into danger. He can’t handle a center exchange. He plays scared.

Your completely right the stage is too big for him right now. The saints are best served by cutting him and relying on Taysom as a 3rd qb. He is better served running the scout team if he is a practice squad guy or even going down into the XFL or USFL for a while. Maybe in 3 or 4 years he can be a solid backup but today he isn’t there and we shouldn’t shouldn’t waste a spot pretending he can be. I don’t think we have to worry about him getting claimed at this point so he should be an easy lock to make it to our practice squad.

I’m even having second thoughts about him being on the PS. if he isn’t getting better, there will be a handful of available QBs who could bring more to the team by way of improving. If the Saints are bringing up their PS QB, the season is toast anyway—my only point is that if Book isn’t at least improving, bring someone else in.

I don’t really care though, because if the Saints have to play a PS QB, the season is probably shot.

Yeah, thinking back on last year, I would think in more overall general terms of us losing games such as lack of a starting QB and lack of decent kicking. Now I'm more inclined to think of Book as losing us games. All the stuff you mentioned and he just turns the ball over too much with interceptions and too many botched snaps.
