Indiana Jones 5?

Can't wait till it comes out and everyone says how disappointing it is.
Apparently, you don't even have to wait. The trailer has been out not even a day and already there's griping about "how bad this looks," and a big stink over the "it's called capitalism" line.

I'm on the fence. It is worrisome that Spielberg and Lucas basically had no creative input in this film nor are they actually involved other than their names being attached through "Lucasfilm" and Spielberg being named an executive producer. Then again, Spielberg directed the "Indiana Jones and Close Encounters" trash that was the fourth film, so who knows?

Mads Mikkleson is a good actor, so I would think his presence is a good sign. Then again, even Laurence Olivier was in a couple of real turkeys. It all starts with how good the script is, then next depends on if the director is good at what they do before you even get to the actors.

I've always been an Indiana Jones fan. but first aliens and now (potential) time travel? why can't they stick to what made the series great, like the realistic lore of stuff? I mean, the last one was ok, it was the typical Indiana Jones sequences which I love. and I'm sure I'll like this one. but I feel like they are trying too hard..

so, the anti-snowflake snowflakes that cry about Cancel culture basically crying about that line in the movie?

Consensus from reviews so far seems to be its serviceable but completely hollow and kind of pointless. About what I expected. Disney/Lucasfilm supposedly thought they had a slam dunk certain critical darling on their hands with this, do the tepid reviews are probably shocking to them.

Edit: actually tepid may be too kind. It's getting increasingly harsh reviews as more come out. All three major industry trades absolutely buried it. Damn. Looks like a mess.

I will watch it in the theater. I have liked them all including the Crystal Skull. I think for me it’s nostalgic sitting in a theater watching Indiana Jones. It brings back childhood. To each their own.

Disney is really trying to force this into being a Star Wars type of franchise.

Slightly better than The Flash's opening weekend. Yikes.
