Introducing 464lb NT Desmond Watson

36 reps of 225lbs shows he's not only big but strong. He moves great for a guy that size. I can see him as a perfect run stopper for a 3-4 defense ala Vince Wilfork. I would just take him off the field for passing downs.
ya too bad in the nfl every down is a passing down now

He would make Ridgeway, for instance, look small by comparison. Someone will take a chance on him. How do you tackle a 464 pound guy?
I don’t think he can be easily blocked.
It would be like an ordinary person trying to block Andre the Giant R.I.P. like in “The Princess Bride.”
Wow ... that makes Khalen Sanders look like Howard Stevens. (Who Dat reference there)

Watched him in the bowl game against Tulane, no running up the middle "at all", but he lacks mobility, and when up against two experienced 330# offensive linemen, he will not last!

Crazy that 225 is less than half his bodyweight. it would be like a normal size guy benching 90 lbs

Lamar Jackson, Allen and Hurts would love to see this guy on the field.

He is nowhere near as mobile as Vince. Florida couldn't play him on run downs either because unless the back runs directly into him, he's not tackling anyone.

His lateral agility is nonexistent.
I know he's not as mobile, but he can eat up blockers like Vince did. It's the only reason someone will draft him.

Staley's Gap and a Half defense requires players to eat blockers/take on double teams. If his only job was to eat two blockers every play, that's what our new defense will call for. He's an athlete, just a massive athlete and he doesn't have an injury history. The knock on him is that he doesn't make a lot of plays, well that's the point of a guy who is supposed to take on double teams every play allowing the LBs and others to make the plays.

ROLB: Chase Young/Foskey
RDE: Brian Bresee/Cam or Saunders
NT: Desmond Watson/Godchaux
LDE: Davon Godchaux/Cam
LOLB: Granderson/Foskey

That's a big lineup to stop the run with a sideline to sideline LB patrolling the middle of the field.
