Is Reggie Bush Blast Off TD against Mia (3 Viewers)

Man the Saints never gave up in this game.

So true!!!! What I liked most was the team showing their appreciation towards the Whodat Nation after the game. Whodats rocked that stadium. Believe it or not, I heard a whodat tell a dolphin fan as he was leaving, "we'll be back for the SB."

Yes, Who Dats stuck with them through the whole time, and they appreciated it.

i told every dolphin fan around my seat that i was saving my spot for the superbowl. they all laughed, until the game ended. unfortunately, i ended up being a liar, because my superbowl seat was on the other side of the field :hihi:

never seen it done before and probably won't see it again unless it's from him

If you watch that sports science vid on Ingram, they say with his long jump numbers he could take off from the 8 and reach the endzone. So, just maybe we might see it again by someone else. Kinda doubt it though, Reggie can fly when he smells endzone.

That is an amazing commercial...after watching it, it makes me so ticked off about the labor situation and wish these two sides would get over themselves and come to a decision and LET'S GET BACK TO FOOTBALL!!!

GEAUX SAINTS

Not a TD, but Lance's 2pt conversion was an amazing feat of athletic ability and body control.

Moore made a great catch. The matchup was good, drew was uncharacteristically off with the throw but it was still where only moore could get it, and he somehow came up with it.

I still think Reggie running all the way across the field and turning the corner at top speed and just launching from 6 yards out over a defender is tough to top. I know hurdling has become a routine play of his, but thats a pretty unique play. thats what makes it special. Not too many players can make a play like that.

i dont think any defense in the league can prepare for that kind of speed and they definantly cant account for a guy that leaps over defenders like that.

Whether you want him back or not, plays like those are impossible to defend. unconventional, yes, but hes had an unconventional role for pretty much his whole career, so for those who would think bush should be let go because of his numbers or his unconventional style of running are not seeing the whole picture IMO.

No one is irreplaceable in the offense, but to me Bush, Colston, and now Graham are the three guys who provide the biggest mismatches, and to me, if we want to make a run at the title again, we need to have a weapon like Bush at our disposal. He has been a big part of our success, and Both the coaching staff and gm know that too.

I think it's important to understand just how thin the line is between being championship caliber and just a good team. With Bush, our offense is more potent, period. Bush is also a threat to score on special teams(Saints all time leader in PR TDs) and that is something we are going to need next season. The offense might adjust without him, and maybe someone else eventually steps up on special teams, but the time for us is now, and keeping reggie around is a move to win now. He has proven to be an integral piece to a championship caliber offense.

Ingram was a great addition, but I dont think that move has as much to do with reggie as most people think. We obviously covet youth and depth at that position and getting the best RB on the board that late in the draft was huge, but a healthy reggie bush has proven that he is willing and capable of contributing in a rotation of running backs. This is nothing new for him or payton at all.

The negotiations could breakdown and both parties may have to move on, but IMO that would not be good for the future of the new orleans saints. I think a renegotiation should happen so that we can keep this guy for the rest of his prime. There is risk with him when you look at the injury history, but i think its a risk worth taking.

If only he would have cut inside at the 20....

But his whole career as been a 'if only'

Is that really how you define his career here? "If only he had cut inside on that one play...."

Please, every dang play you can look at a player and say if only he had done this, you can do that all day, even with the greatest players in the game.

No. I'm not calling Reggie one of the best in the game. I'm just saying that when healthy he helps put points on the board. He helps us win. Anyone who follows this team closely should know what he brings to the table, and defining his career as a saint by "if only he would cut inside more" is just way off.

I can go through a whole litany of plays that "if only" he didn't make we would have lost game, but i feel like no matter what i say there will be certain fans who just don't get it. His contract and status coming out of college have created expectations for the guy that he will never meet. He himself has said that he has not lived up to his expectations, but that in no way discredits what he has done for the team.

I have tried to stay out of the debates because of his contract situation. Theres a possibility he may be in a different uniform next year, but if he leaves, his time here has been about a lot more than "if only". That may be what the writers will say about him because that makes for a great story, but as a true fan of the Saints, his playing career here has been a pleasure to watch, and I hope its not over, but if it is, he should be remembered as a champion.

in 2006 if you would have told me after we picked reggie bush that he would be the leading scorer for our team the next 5 years, and he will score 11 TDs in a season that included a superbowl win, i would have been exstatic. You could argue that we could have picked a better player all you want, but its just so hard to argue with that ring.

My favorite Bush TD was the long one against the Bears in the NFC championship game. It was the biggest play in biggest Saints game of all time up to that point.

I terrified my poor family with my reaction.

Those were better times in terms of Bush...there was NO controversy. I remember he had scored 9 TD's in his past 7 games at that point, including the 4 TD game vs. the 49ers.

I think you see two different types of athleticism in comparing this with Bush's TD. Bush is just a natural, freakishly explosive athlete. From one leg, he propelled himself that high and that far to score the way he did.

I remember hearing a while back that Lance Moore is a black belt in Tai Kwan Do. I think this is, in large part, what has brought him from UDFA to extremely reliable receiver. He is not as fast, as quick, or as explosive as a lot of players. But he is so efficient in everything he does. His concentration is unflappable. His hand-eye coordination and, as gpupil said, body control are amazing. He maximizes his physical ability on every play, and has the discipline and focus to make plays that a lot of players of similar NATURAL athletic ability wouldn't be able to make.

Both are amazing plays.

If only you wouldn't read so much into an innocent comment.

From now on -for your benefit only- I'll elaborate more. "I wish he would have cut inside because instead of a 5 yard gain it would it have been one of the most amazing punt returns ever."

Colston made a sweet catch a few years back against the Texans. Couldn't find the highlight.
