The only way Foskey will break out is if we trade him to Philly.

He's stiff as a board. That's why I said if we get the right DC and DL coach. The talent is there. 11 sacks the last 2 seasons of his college career. Ran a 4.58 in the 40. I'm not saying it will happen but I can see it happening with the right coaching.
Yeah….we haven’t seen that since…..Zach BaunBarely saw the field but he's going to be a breakout performer?
Don’t see it but we all hope you’re right.IMO I think he will have a break out season this year. He has the potential to be elite. I think he wasn't coached up correctly these past 2 seasons. According to Cam Jordan , Todd Grantham the DL coach wasn't teaching players technique in a interview he had. (Can't remember with who)That's vital to young players. We may already have one of our position of needs on the roster. As long as we get the right DC and DL coach. A player picked 40th is basically a 1st round talent. Just my opinion.
I will bet a large sum of money that Foskey will not have any success in the NFL.
Comparing him to Baun is not a good comparison. Baun was a very talented football player that I couldn't figure out how he was not an NFL star. Foskey is an untalented and uninspiring football player that I can't figure out how he is on an NFL team. Foskey wasn't good when he was good. He had one defensive move in college. A speed edge rush. He got all his sacks against inferior teams in large chunks. Whoever decided that he was our guy in the 2nd round should be in jail.
Nonsense, Most of Foskey's sacks @ ND were not coverage sacks . Now I don't know if he'll have a breakout yr but I expect him to be much improved with Grantham gone and if Staley runs more of a 3-4. He'll play a stand up 3-4 OLB which is his natural positionHe was a stiff pass rusher who got most of his sacks in college from good coverage. Didn’t do much his rookie season including seeing the field. If we do go to a 3-4, maybe he can be a 3 tech or OLB but I wouldn’t bet money on him being more than a backup/special teams guy.
Right he doesn't have enough bend to be a hand in the dirt edge rusher. He has been another guy in a long line of square peg round hole types for this team. In a 3-4 as a stand up rusher he could finally utilize his speed..hopefully.I think the one hope for Foskey is that if we hire Staley and start using the Fangio scheme, Foskey might be better as an OLB in a 3-4 or as a standup edge rusher in a hybrid 3-4. He was a stand up rusher at ND and that might help him at least get some production.

Baun's athleticism was easy to see. I don't see the same type of athleticism with Foskey.I will bet a large sum of money that Foskey will not have any success in the NFL.
