It looks very much like the Saints will draft at... {merged} (1 Viewer)

dont' be shocked if first player is offense though...
granted, if dorsey, ellis, even okam or laurinatis or dan conner hit our draft spot, the lynch mod would already be suited up and ready if they don't take one of them.

That's good. Just wondering where you got this from, since I've seen conflicting reports with Cincy having an easier SOS.

I guess if the Titans win tonight, we would pick ahead of Cincy because they beat the Titans and we lost to them.

Not too shabby! Leapfrogging Cincy could be HUGE, since they have similar needs to us, especially at DT, where Sedrick Ellis could be sitting.

This is hilarious! I just finished updating my initial post to reflect this and then I come back only to see your thread.

The Saints will have their choice of a serious impact player at 9 either DT Sedrick Ellis, LB James Laurantias, CB Malcolm Jenkins, S Kenny Phillips will be there. It also gives them more ammunition if they want to trade down here is a guess.

Miami: QB Matt Ryan [Boston College]

All new everything and they will want to grab a franchise caller.

St. Louis: DT Glen Dorsey [LSU]

Their defense is terrible.

Oakland: RB Darren McFadden [Arkansas]

Best offensive player in the draft.

Kansas City: OT Jake Long [Michigan]

LT is a huge need.

Atlanta: QB Brian Brohm [Louisville]

Need a signal caller.

New York Jets: DE/DT Chris Long [Virginia]

He is built to play the 3-4 defense.

New England [SF]: LB James Laurantias [Ohio State]

Baltimore: CB Malcolm Jenkins [Ohio State]

Aging CBs.

New Orleans: S Kenny Phillips/ DT Sedrick Ellis

why do we have the #9 spot? I mean what determines the 1st pick of the 7-9 teams?

It is determined by strength-of-schedule. The easiest way to figure it out is to tally up all the wins of each team's opponent.

are you supposed to count division opponents twice in SOS calculations?

Looks like a pretty good list to me. The only one I'm not sure on is the Ravens pick. I wouldn't be suprised if they tried to move up to get one of the QB's. Another thought would be the Patriots trading out of their spot for more picks later on or for future seasons.

I'm not sure, that's why I'm asking.

That gives Cincy the weaker schedule. :(
