It's time to talk about the drones (7 Viewers)

It can't be other countries spying, right? Not with all the flashing lights/size of some of them?
I guess nothing can be ruled out after this barely there fed administration simply let Chinese balloons just canvass the country for awhile...

i think there are more "explained" than "unexplained" at this point.

Primarily if having red/green lights ( typical standard FAA id lights - depending on orientation can tell if heading/if traveling toward/away and altitude relative to viewer ) have been shown to be helicopters and planes.

But certainly others that dont have those lights or orientated in standard way that cant be explained.

Im of the thought, particular to NJ, we are seeing these very close to McGuire/Dix/Lakeland military base, so i think it could be combo of training exercises combined w/ drone use of different types.

A lot of the night videos dont give good depth perception- so something to the view that may seem relatively close by, could in fact, be 20-3 miles off.

mayor of belleville, nj just interviewed and has received statewide oem instruction in case of downed drone:

1) call county bomb squad immediately
2) responding firefighters wear hazmat gear

also said against the law for citizens to shoot at/down drones :nono:

fed opacity about this is absurd

Well, that settles it. May as well give up NJ. Whoever you are, you can have it, just leave the rest of us alone.

And if it were companies doing legitimate surveying of properties, why do it at night?

Thermal scans and for ground penetrating radar/lidar. Cold topsoil allows you can look for deep buried utilities, aquafers etc.

We used to use a wheel mounted Ground penetrating lidar but now they do it from the sky much faster

I have learned muchly.

If it was a legitimate company someone would've spoken up by now. Its been going on for days.

Also the fact that there's apparently no radio frequency being used to control them and attempts to interfere with radio signals to shut them down don't work.

Yea
I was at a meeting yesterday and one of the gentlemen at the table is from North Carolina. He said that he was told by his brother (who works for an insurance company) that some insurance companies are using drones to evaluate roof and tree damage from Hurricane Helene in an effort to call out fraud and/or lowball clients on payouts.
I know nothing about any of that - I’m just sharing the conversation.
Yeah, that’s been going on for quite some time, not just in NJ.

Yeah, I believe that. They also use drones to do policy compliance review (like look for things like trampolines). @efil4stnias

its common- inspection use- pre-underwriting or post-issuance - for agents.

Just had to use friends son to run one up in Covington to get photos of roof. Companies will jump on Google Earth, and if there is just a slight discoloration, or the resolution is blurred, they will question the condition of roof ( and deny quoting it )

As for claims, adjusters absolutely use to keep from having to climb up and walk a roof. Especially pitched roofs.

but they arent working at night.
