"The Jaguars (2-3) have too many holes and too much inexperience on that side of the ball to be considered one of the NFL's best. They're allowing 23.6 points a game, tied for 19th in the league, and have been gouged by every non-division team on their schedule."

We should be able to come in with a very aggressive game plan offensively. Much like we had vs Tampa.

This also might be the first game where we see Murray have a bigger impact in the running game as the Jags gave up one huge run after another vs Carolina.

Saints 23, Jags 16

Just a few couple of years ago, they were known as "Sacksonville." Those days seem to be gone.

Even, you can never take any opponent lightly.

Jaguars are surrendering 23 points/game (...limited the Texans to 13 pts. in Houston).

We take care of our business, the rest will take care of itself.

Don’t let Fournette beat you. Let Marshon follow Chark and make someone else beat you. Problem with Tampa was they had weapons all over the field. Jax doesn’t have that. Expecting a 24-16 kind of game. OL has to protect Teddy though as their front can still cause big issues.

Playing on grass....sure hope it's sunny and the field is in good shape.
Priority #1....choose the right cleats
Priority #2... stop the run
Priority #3...make minshew uncomfortable
I'm hoping this isn't a trap game.
I heard they're handing out minshew mania packages (fake mustache and headband )

I'm not underestimating minshew. ..I wanted
us to use a late round pick on him.

I'm expecting a game plan closer to Dallas/Seattle than Tampa. Their offense plays right into our defensive strengths:
- We can stop the run without selling out for it
- They're largely one-dimensional in the pass game with Chark (meet Mr. Lattimore)
- A lot of Minshew's positive plays have been broken plays/scrambles, and the Saints have played fantastic contain on QBs so far this year

If I were Payton I'd be going in thinking we can win this game largely with defense, ST, and our running game. Heavy dose of AK and a bit of Murray. If we don't control the game all the way through, open it up a bit as necessary. But I feel good about our chances this week. The Jags are easily the worst team on our schedule so far.

Murray and McCaffery aren't even in the same league when comparing running backs

I think he's implying that their backup rb went off with limited touches, because they ran the same run play over and over and the jags couldn't stop it.

Pretty sure sacksonville was 2017. Between coaching and scheme changes over the last two seasons they are a mess.

I think that defense is still a threat. They have talent at all levels that can show up even if it hasn't been great so far this year. Don't trust their d-line to be silent without a good o-line performance. Their secondary can make plays, particularly with Ramsey. Hoping for another play it safe game on offense. Quick throws and let Kamara do work. If our defense contains Fournette and Minshew looks like a rookie, that should be enough.

In the 6 games we've ever played against the Jaguars, the Saints have only beaten them once in Jacksonville. I don't like those odds. :covri:

I think cause the Saints didnt travel well during those years. Here as of late. Last 3 year's or so they have played pretty well on the road. We will see tho. Keeping the game plan simple and oh didn't have Kamara then also.

They’re a completely different defense (and team) with Ramsey out.

This should be our easiest game so far. Hope the team doesn't have a let-down, after all the high emotions of the last 4 games.
