Please no . . . I'd rather an undrafted rookie at this point. The undrafted dude has potential, Clowney is still living off one play in college.

I wouldn’t mind him a couple years ago and he played us a few years ago like he was gonna sign with us and just used us as leverage if you remember.

Granderson is younger, cheaper and not dramatic.

IIRC, Clowney has NEVER had a season with double digit sacks.

Single digits sacks = Clowney’s ceiling.

I'm in but he needs to be paid according to his boom or bust production. Not like he's coming from the Texans with potential. I think he fits what we like (big and brings run defense) and could do well opposite Jordan. Despite last year's numbers, I think he would be our second-best DE and bolster the d-line. He has several 30-40 pressure seasons. Jordan is the only DE we've seen hit that in a while.

I do think there are better options out there but I'm good with it if the price is right.

Nah, we're good without him. He's past his prime. His last year with us, he wasn't elevating the defense like normal. There's a reason why he's not with us for several years now. It's time to let the dream die my friend.

This! I've never seen a player keep getting signed off of potential that has never been realized. He should have been a rotational guy years ago.

Forget that clown after the last time he feigned interest in signing here. Claimed he wanted to play for a winning team and goes sign with Cleveland after we drove the price up for him.

It was actually the Titans. He went on to sign with the Browns the next season.

Kind of worked out in a sense since Hendrickson had his huge year that year whereas Clowney likely would have taken snaps for him. Of course, it sucks we lost Hendrickson the following offseason

I would gladly take 8-9 sacks a year from an undersized DE. Better than 2 sacks from Clowney or .5 sacks from Davenport. These guys have the prototypical size and measurements you want in a DE, but not the production they should have at this point in their careers. Ngakoue may be lacking in run support is maybe why he has been on the move so much in his career. I'm sure the Saints can bring him in and use him as a situational pass rusher and help him develop his run defense skills so he can become a more complete DE.
