Jake Haener (4 Viewers)

Heard that too. 💯.
had to listen to the Chiefs crew on Sirius driving back home and they were not impressed, if he takes screw ups to settle down then he can sit the year out. Makes me think Jeff Duncan calling him camp MVP confirms Jeff Duncan has bad judgment. Chiefs crew was also all over our DB's when the QB from South Dakota St was rolling down the field and not stuck on 3rd and long.

I agree on their back up QB’s seeming to have a field day.

On Jake I really believe he has what it takes to be a decent starter in this league, time will tell. I sure could be wrong, wouldn’t be the first time.

Hoping Jake gets some time with the 1’s and 2’s.

This is the perfect scenario this year for Haener.

The #2 QB has a lot of duties on the sideline and Payton never had a rookie as his #2 I think Allen will be the same way.

Haener can follow Winston and learn from him and Carr and that helps him prepare for the role in 2024.

The rule change is you can dress out a 3rd (emergency) QB even though he isn't on the 46 man game day roster.

Only caveat if he is activaed and enters the game #1 and 2 QBs are deactivated and can't reenter the game.

Most concerning things I noticed: He made a scared face when he was intercepted and when the ball was batted down. He needs to chill and settle down and not be emotional.

Best things I noticed: He makes his reads very quickly and the ball comes out. It's very common for rooks to hold the ball too long and bad things usually happen, not a problem with Haener.

I'm happy with what I saw today.
It's not like he could hand the ball off to Kamara, toss a screen to olave or hit Thomas on a curl. He also didnt have a superior line in front of him either.
Kid will be fine. He got better as he progressed through the game

I take Brees assessment over the Chiefs talking heads about Haener. And what scrambling QB doesn't run on us? They all do.
