NFL Draft Jalen Milroe? Any thoughts? (8 Viewers)

He's not a viable NFL passer.... He's a long long long term project for a team that already has a franchise QB and an offense built around a running QB. That ain't us.
That's why I thought he could fill Taysom's role until he developed (or not).

Absolutely awful. The guy is not going to find any success as a QB in the NFL. He couldn't throw for junk in college. Alabama's offense was all ground game. Running either with the RB or Milroe.

If you can't dominate throwing the ball in college, then you have zero shot in the NFL at being successful doing it. Milroe feels like Terrele Pryor all over again.

Not a chance. Taysom Hill ran the ball more like Mike Alstott (but a bit smaller) with strong enough legs to push and push hard, running people over. Milroe gets arm tackled much, much easier if an arm gets his hips or legs.

Not fan of Milroe but I am willing to let Moore build his roster as he sees fit. If he drafts Milroe and wants to develop him then so be it. It’s going to be a very interesting draft and off-season.

I coached him for a season in pee wee ball (1st grade) and my son blocked for him in High School for one year (my son was a year behind but they played a year of varsity together).

Great kid. Great family. Great talent.

I don't think he's accurate enough for the NFL. It pains me to say that because I love this kid with all my heart, but if I put my objective hat on he's a 55% completion percentage sort of guy at the NFL level.

A lot of talk lately about Jaxson Dart but I wanted to get a feel for the boards opinion on Jalen Milroe from Alabama in terms of being picked at say 40(ADP on nfldraftbuzz is around 47) so he’d be right in that range. He could possibly drop to 71 but that might be a bit risky.

The more I read about him and more I watch I am admittedly more intrigued and curious about him.

Draft scouting report is(per nfldraftbuzz):

Do you guys think Moore would take a chance on him due to his physical attributes and fit in system?

He throws a beauty of a deep ball and we have guys who can take advantage already.

Highlights
I like Milroe, but the fanbase will not be patient enough for him to develop into a passer at the next level.

Agreed. I don't think he's an accurate enough passer to make it in the NFL, but if Moore thinks he can develop him, I'd be fine with the pick. He has amazing athletic skills. If someone can fix his short and intermediate accuracy, then he could be a great player with a really high ceiling. If Moore thinks he can fix him, I'd have no issue with taking him in the 3rd or 4th.

I would rank him as the QB3 but he’s definitely a volatile prospect. He has to have it between the ears like Hurts to reach that ceiling - but I think it might be in there.

As silly as it sounds, his hand size indicates that his ceiling is probably a slash/gadget type player. One of the only qb’s to ever have any sustainable success with hands that size is Michael Vick. He’s no Michael Vick.

He’s Taysom Hill. Phenomenal athlete but not an NFL QB. Wasn’t even good in college. He’s like the 6th best QB just in his conference
Huh……this may sound a bit weird, but Jalen Hurts was not a good passing QB while at Bama. He was surrounded by a disgusting amount of talent and made timely runs en route to victories. I don’t think anyone would argue that Milroe did not have the amount of talent that Hurts was surrounded by. Now look at Hurts…….a SB champion.

I’m sure he does. Milroe comes from a military family as his Dad was a Marine and his Mom was in the Navy. They have molded that guy to be a great listener and a hard worker. His mental game is strong enough to overcome anything and block out noise. He’s willing to make doubters eat their words. Trust me, I hate Bama, but I’m a realist when it comes to athletes. This dude can be a big time player and a great face of a franchise

Comparing Milroe to Hurts is an insult to Hurts. Milroe was still surrounded by crazy amounts of talent and still put up one of Bamas worst seasons in like 20 years. Hurts made the Natty

Milroe should have stayed for another year in college but he probably wouldn’t start at Bama next year
