NFL Draft Jalen Milroe? Any thoughts?

That's why I thought he could fill Taysom's role until he developed (or not).
I haven’t seen one comment from him during his years at Alabama that would suggest he would consider such a role.

I understand that the guy wants to be an NFL QB, but he is limiting his career ceiling if he insists upon it. He's a good athlete and if smart would be selling himself as an all around football player that can do many different things. Because he's just not a good enough passer to work in the NFL as a full time QB.

And I know some people talk about how he could be a Taysom type player, but I'd rather have Riley Leonard for that role and you could take him WAY later. The guy had almost as many rushing TDs as passing TDs for Notre Dame.

I'd pass.

Has phenomenal movement in and out of the pocket. Has NFL arm strength and touch, but his accuracy scares me off. He also seemed to have a lot of "down" games.

That could mean he will sit the bench inactive, maybe for 2-3 years until he learns to read defenses. That's fine with me, as long as it's not on this team.

If I was Milroe, I'd have stayed in college another year ala Hurts. Lots of similarities in their profiles. I think Hurts did himself a favor transferring to Oklahoma. Not sure if Alabama had already made plans other than him, but I can't imagine him having a hard time finding a landing spot with a good situation.

Or maybe he's doing the right thing? I believe Hurts went in the 2nd round and that's about where Milroe is expected to go. Sure feels like there'll be some growing pains for whoever drafts him, but his wheels alone can change games. So at least there's that as a starting point.

The light hasn't clicked on yet. Has all the skills and tools. Plus, he's really good guy. Ideally, if he could sit with a good staff for two years, I think he could be something special. Who here thought Hurts would be where he is? He was Milroe before transferring to Oklahoma and playing in a passing offense in a conference where they played no defense. Honed his skills and gained confidence.

It's possible I guess.... wouldn't agree with it

Milroe’s team was not as talented as Hurts’ was. Any Bama fan would tell you that. Btw, was the GOAT the coach for Bama last year? No he wasn’t
Probably not but they're too talented to be tied with Missouri in SEC standings. Milroe isn't Hurts as much as DeBoer isn't Saban

If KM likes him, then oh well.

Didn’t say that Milroe was Hurts. Milroe is Milroe. Just saying that Hurts’ team was so good, that he didn’t even have to be a QB in order to win games, and in time, he became a Super Bowl winning QB, who can actually throw the ball now. With the transfer portal in full effect, the SEC is more of a gauntlet than it was before. Not sure how you don’t see that? It’s not a case of Bama gobbling up all of the 5 star talent on a yearly basis, like before. Losing games is going to be thing in the SEC going forward. There will be no one true powerhouse. Besides, Missouri played well last year. Plus, if we want to get technical, Missouri played 1 ranked team, which was against Bama and lost 34-0🤣
