NFL Draft Jalen Milroe? Any thoughts?

Please please NO! Not any draft pick should be used on this guy! Someone will make the huge mistake in drafting this guy but he will never be a qb. Perhaps he could turn into a multi role playing athlete similar to Taysom one day but he has not expressed any desire to give up on qb dreams. I would only give him a chance if he went undrafted but I think someone will foolishly want him.

I think Milroe is closer to Anthony Richardson who should have been a later pick. Both, much more raw than Lamar Jackson.
True I can see that but sometimes it’s a situational thing (organization coaching )
Belief in a player with putting them in a position to succeed

Olave and shaheed could be like Tory holt and Isaac Bruce
But the offense gotta predicate that
He could be like Vick you really never know if it’s a 3rd rd pick I’d do it

A lot of talk lately about Jaxson Dart but I wanted to get a feel for the boards opinion on Jalen Milroe from Alabama in terms of being picked at say 40(ADP on nfldraftbuzz is around 47) so he’d be right in that range. He could possibly drop to 71 but that might be a bit risky.

The more I read about him and more I watch I am admittedly more intrigued and curious about him.

Draft scouting report is(per nfldraftbuzz):

Do you guys think Moore would take a chance on him due to his physical attributes and fit in system?

He throws a beauty of a deep ball and we have guys who can take advantage already.

Highlights
I don't know but can he bring Ryan Williams with him. It was almost a Williams highlight video.

I’m not sure about Milroe but I wouldn’t mind taking a later round flyer on Tyler Shough out of Louisville. I know he’s old at 25 and has an injury history but his scout profile is really good

As silly as it sounds, his hand size indicates that his ceiling is probably a slash/gadget type player. One of the only qb’s to ever have any sustainable success with hands that size is Michael Vick. He’s no Michael Vick.

Not silly at all. I like Milroe but that’s a very legitimate concern.

Hand size on a QB is extremely important at the NFL level.

Guys with tiny hands don’t last, and they also look a little odd when dropping back to pass. Even felt that way about Taysom as a full-time QB. The small hands standout compared to his peers at the position.

Phenominal athlete. Not sure if he has the experience throwing and reading defenses.

Can he get the ball to the right spot on time? Sometimes. This is key. Anyone who can do this can play in the NFL. Sometimes is not very affirming. If anything he is a bit of a project.

He is, but I expect the saints to take a hard look at him. If we’re rebuilding more or less from the ground up, why not try him.

Some team is going to think they can coach him up and make him a QB. There's a lot to like along with the obvious knocks. I don't know his college status, but I do feel like he could've used another season as a QB whether it was at Alabama or elsewhere. That scenario helped Hurts both in draft profile and in his development.
I wonder if his decision to declare for the draft had anything to do with this year's perceived weak QB class?

Would also mean cutting one of our current QBs too. What % chance are you giving him to be the next Lamar? Just seems pretty risky. Lamar was a lot better in college than Milroe.

We are in a pretty desperate situtation needing an OG, NT, Passrusher, WR, S, CB. Not sure we can risk picks otherwise I'd bow to your logic.

It’s a weird situation because they measured his hands again and they’re actually 9 3/8”.

Still a bit small but much more average than the sub 9 he had.

He’d be a project, but that 4.3 has me very intrigued. He may be worth the gamble.

I think worse case scenario, you have Taysom Hill-lite for a few years.

I would be shocked if he's anything more then a Day 3 pick. I would have to guess 6th or 7th round. I also wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he becomes a UDFA.

Running the ball? He's good in college and there's a decent chance it won't translate well to the NFL, if at all. Lets also not forget he's a QB who throws about as accurate as some of my 13 year old softball pitchers.
