N/S Jameis Winston/Browns just beat the Ravens (1 Viewer)

You can say the same thing about Carr. At least winston is cheaper and we could build a team around him and get the same results.
How many 2-year, $2 million contracts do you think Jameis Winston was going to sign here? Would he still be a bargain in 2024 as a QB1?

Shout out to Infoman, who called this.....NOT.......

Congrats to Jameis, just one game, but hope it's a preview of things to come for him.....

Good for Winston. I told my wife on that last scoring drive,..........."He's about to throw a pick any play now". Hamilton prevented that.

Great NFL throws and three God awful ones that hit the Ravens players right in the hands and they dropped them. Same ol' Winston.

I just watched his pregame speech and the game highlights. Jameis is such an injection of energy and enthusiasm. What a stark contrast to our bland, moribund franchise. Some may say he is the walking equivalent of recreational drug use - the blissful high followed by the devastating comedown - but if your team isnā€™t going to be good, they may as well be entertaining and fun from time to time.

I donā€™t dislike DC4 by any stretch, but I am still annoyed at DAā€™s decision to keep Winston sidelined for Dalton in 2022. And with the benefit of hindsight, we wouldā€™ve been better to roll with Jameis instead of Carr for cap reasons. A symptom of a FO that overrated the strength of our roster prior to last season.

He threw 3 dropped picks in second half. i didn't see the first half.
Funny enough, if you watched the 2nd half, you would have also seen the reigning MVP and current leader in the race do the exact same thing

I find (sections of) this fan base and its pining for mediocre (thatā€™s being polite to Jameis) incredibly annoying. Set higher standards folks, please.
One day, we may need to have tough conversations regarding QB evaluation. We have fans saying the above and then we have a Super Bowl Winning, former 2x MVP and Hall of Fame QB who studies film all day saying this:

Notice he said "years." After the 2019 season, he said when you turn on tape, Winston makes better reads and throws than 90% of the league.

He looked comfortable in the offense. He was never in synch with our offense, he always seemed rushed and could not keep up with the cadence. That offense was built for Drew and they should have found a way to make him comfortable back there.

He got more comfortable in our offense as the season went and Sean did make it comfortable. We had more play-action and CSP was cooking up some things. One thing that's normally forgetting is the team full of UDFAs we had to field because COVID killed the cap. Even with that, he was still statically and metrically top 10 in most QB stats/metrics.

But that offense is a scheme fit. Run and play-action heavy from under center with an emphasis on intermediate passing, which is dang near everything he has been top 5 in since getting into the league. Then you put in Ken Dorsey's scheme which deals with making the right read pre-snap and being in a "see and react" type offense like he ran in college, he is in a good place. The key thing is their defense. Cause I'm not even going to front, I'm looking at that game as a loss for us now...lol

I'm a Jamies fan, but that Kurt Warner take is wild.

He has all the tools, and is a GREAT motivator, teammate, and person, but He absolutely makes several bad decisions every game, including what should have been 3-4 interceptions in the Ravens game.

He will lose you as many games as you win. Now I will agree that going .500 with Winston at QB would be a fun ride, but at the end of the day you are not going to win championships making 3-4 bad decisions a game as a QB.

I always admired JWs demeanor in game. It takes a lot of courage to play week in and week out. He never seemed rattled or scared ever. Maybe unsure at times, but never scared or rattled. We know heā€™s got the arm. JW likes to play hero ball too much tho, heā€™ll throw picks, and they donā€™t mean much to him, because he believes that heā€™ll eventually throw himself back into the game and win like a hero at the end. JW thrives on drama, he gets better under pressure. That rare, tbh. Usually a fool throwing three picks crumbles, NOT JW tho, this dude gets better. Like in the movie Rocky, when Rocky was purposely taking shots from Clubber Lang. (Mr T). When Rocky finally had enough then turned the tide. But unfortunately for JW, staffs and fan bases never want to see picks.
