Jameis Winston's best attributes: Targeting Tight ends, Broken Plays, Play-action (3 Viewers)

Well ok, my bad. But, how do you see him signing a 1yr deal to be the starter for us? He will be offered starter money and a longer deal by other teams. I see him getting a 3yr deal at 25 to 27+ mill a year, even with coming off injury, he will be healthy for the first game of the season. Winston isn't going "hat in hand." The Saints will offer him more than that to stay.
Again, that's what you see. Nobody thought to offer him that last season, so now he's worth that after playing 7 games and coming off a knee injury? A QB needy Team could sign him to a big deal to steal him away from the Saints and the Saints will not over pay for no player, that's been proven, so if you think the Saints are worried about losing Winston to another team so they will invest more money than they are comfortable with then you must be a newby to the WHO DAT Nation.

I am not against resigning Winston and I'd it's a multi year deal than so be it, I just don't think it will happen that way as I feel he's not the best fit for the position even if Payton knows he can win with him.

I like Jameis and do believe it's probably in the Saints best interest to bring him back over the possible other options.. but I also think that there's some level of overselling the positivity of how well Jameis played for us going on here too, honestly, and with that placing a disproportionate amount of trust in the small sample size of 14-3 TD-INT ratio and 4-2 record over how Jameis actually looked through the process of attaining those numbers.

I thought he played pretty well overall, surprised with his scrambling/running ability but was also very herky-jerky in the way he played and and, for me, was still quite frightening to watch dropback in general. But he made enough positive things happen with a complete lack of legitimate receiving threats available that I'm alright with rolling the dice on Jameis, at least to some non ridiculous contractual extent, and hoping he continues to put it together for us.
