Jared Goff and the Lions agree to 4 year $212M extension. (4 Viewers)

This fan base is spoiled by Brees. Goff and Ryan are both very good QBs.
Detroit is trying to win it all and Goff gives them the best chance to do that.
Even with Brees we got 1 SB in 15 years and we got insanely lucky AP had the worst game of his career and Farve threw the worst INT of his career the same night.

Goff got them on the doorstep of the Super Bowl, it’s just too bad Shanny only melts down in the SB not championship games

Sometimes, very good or borderline great HC's welt or fall under the pressure of the biggest game of their lives, plus his SB losses were to some of the greatest NFL HC's of all-time, as well as teams. Mahomes is a constant, complete anomaly for opposing defenses to try and just contain, because even if he doesn't have a great game, statistically, he still can pull off some amazing physical, physics-defying moves with big plays that break games open. He might be the only QB who can beat you in so many more different ways then Tom Brady ever could throughout his long career.

Mentally, I got the impression in both Niners SB's losses , his teams became tired, sluggish, looked lost and made some dumb mental mistakes they don't make against other NFC teams. In the 4th quarter, San Francisco just fell flat and that always goes back to conditioning, preparation, good coaching, lack of focus, and key injuries like losing Dre Greenlaw, after he left, Niners run/pass defense lost some of its effectiveness, wasnt as fast or aggressive off-the-ball as they were most of the 1st half. Shanahan's teams also have a tendency to "coast" once they get big, large leads as opposed to staying aggressive, dominant in close games vs. Detroit in the NFCCG.

I still maintain that Shanahan outmanuevered and outcoached Dan Campbell in the NFCCG, and that if only DC had exercised a modicum of self-control with some of his questionable, 2nd half in-game decisions, Detroit couldve made its first-ever SB appearance.

Idk man, I'm not giving Shanny credit for Purdy's ball bouncing off a Lions defenders helmet for a 9ers TD combined with Reynolds two drops that both would have extended Lions into scoring drives. He called a better game in the second half but it doesn't excuse he was horrible in the first half. Campbell called the right plays and got the guys open, it was the players that didn't execute.
