N/S Jayden Daniels! Discuss! (1 Viewer)

Granted I’ve only seen him in 4 games (all NFL) but he sure looks like a good passer and decision maker to me.

He throws to throw, runs to throw, and only actually runs when it is obviously there to take.

You trying avoiding the inevitable is cute, but you don't provide any solution to our aging team at critical position with incredible tight cap issue.

Rebuilding isn't about just getting a QB. It's making over the roster with youth and going back to healthy cap situation

The Commanders still have $25m in cap space this year and $103m in cap space next year.

They got a good defensive Head Coach who seems to have learned that he needs a strong offensive counterpart and they have an unreal amount of cap space to build around Daniels.

Meanwhile... in New Orleans...

Washington figured it out with a coach that knows how build a young QB up..

If only we just simply committed to a rebuild post Payton and just suck for a year. Then, we be looking at 10 years of fortune with a young QB.

But Loomis had to prove he didn't need Payton to be successful. Then, proceed to put us in a worse cap situation than before. Bleh.

Or we would have taken the wrong QB and been terrible for 20 to 30 years. You can't guarantee that if you tank or tear it down that you will get the right QB or that you will rebuild and be back quickly. It's just as likely that you end up being terrible for 20 or 30 years. See Washington, Cleveland, Chicago, Cincy, Jets, etc. Sometimes you get lucky and pick Burrow or Daniels, but more often than not, you end up with Justin Fields.

So you prefer what you got now? Taysom’s body is breaking down . Carr a bit overpaid etc.

Carr is paid where he belongs and tearing it apart doesn't guarantee that you will build back and be good. I'll take this over being terrible for 20 or 30 years.

Yeah and how well has that been for Cleve, Carolina,Chicago? It's way too early to crown Daniels as 10 yrs of fortune . Plus there's no sure thing @ QB in the draft. And what you gonna do , pick the yr You blow to go along with the next great QB prospect?
Funny you brought up Chicago

Spot on he runs as a last resort.

When i stated Lamar is overated i heard it two weeks ago. I dont care if he is a two time MVP. Mahomes should of won the 19 one. Heck id probably would of given it Mahomes last year.

Someone stated he has run for over 5k yards. I counter pointed that he probably lost out on 10k yards passing. Which means he cost his team 5000 actual yards.

I’ve been fully in the rebuild camp for a few seasons now but you are spot on that it’s a crap shoot.

This.

Carr did lead the team to consecutive comebacks with little time left. He performed in high pressure situations and is very low on my totem pole of blame.

Rebuild isn't just about drafting a QB.

Drafting a QB is just natural process you can't avoid even though Saints are dead last in drafting QBs in the 1st round. Change needs to happen.

We haven't drafted a QB in the 1st two rounds since 1971. Look like not drafting QB didn't matter for almost 20 years. You have to trust the process on drafting a QB if that's the reality of it.

What the Saints need to do is draft well and hit on those hidden gems. Also really good coaches can make mediocre players good. That's difference between good and bad teams.

No one is bringing up Carr as an issue. It's the team around him and cap situation that cripple us as a glaring issue.

Carr is very solid, but this isn't the right situation for him to succeed.
