N/S Jayden Daniels! Discuss! (1 Viewer)

Rebuild or go with a veteran
Neither provides a definite route for long term success. Both routes have their positives and negatives.

In regards to JD5, he's sharp so far.

And how many yrs and missed QBs did they go through to get Williams? AND he has looked not so great in his other games, PLUS they got VERY lucky Carolina was so stupid and bad
Yeah and we almost lost to one in the playoffs . I think his name was Tribisky.

I love Jaden Daniels and what he did for LSU, but his downfall will be the same as RG3.

He’s not a great pocket passer, he has gotten better though. If he should ever get an injury to his legs his career will probably be over. His legs and scrambling ability are his money. I hope he has a long successful career, especially against Dallas, but he likes to run and from what we’ve seen from RG3, Lamar Jackson, etc over the years; those QB’s don’t go far in the playoffs.

Rebuild isn't just about drafting a QB.

Drafting a QB is just natural process you can't avoid even though Saints are dead last in drafting QBs in the 1st round. Change needs to happen.

We haven't drafted a QB in the 1st two rounds since 1971. Look like not drafting QB didn't matter for almost 20 years. You have to trust the process on drafting a QB if that's the reality of it.

I'm one that thinks you should draft a QB either every other year or every year in rounds 2 to 5 or so until you hit on a franchise guy and then keep doing it so you can develop them to trade for better picks or have them take over down the line.

I just don't think the NFL is a league where you should intentionally "rebuild" if that means getting rid of all your good players for picks because the draft is more or less a crap shoot. Most NFL teams are a few special players away. So I think you should look to build your OL and DL until you get that franchise QB and once you get that QB you go out and get him weapons. And you should keep a decent team that will be almost ready to go once you find that franchise QB.

If Carr is so good why did the Raiders dump him? So we are okay with average?

Well no, but having Carr doesn't stop you from looking for a franchise QB and you never know where you are going to find them. Sometimes it the first round or second round. Other times it's the 6th or 7th or free agency.

But Carr is a solid QB who is good enough if you have a good OL and a good defense. And if you have that, you are ready to go when you do find a better QB than Carr.

No one is bringing up Carr as an issue. It's the team around him and cap situation that cripple us as a glaring issue.

Carr is very solid, but this isn't the right situation for him to succeed.

You aren't, but others are.

Anyway, what it comes down to is that this team needs to draft better. They have been a bit better in the last few years, but you can't miss on a picks like Penning, Foskey, Turner, or even a 4th round Guard like Saldiveri.

But, frankly, I think this team has enough talent to win the division with Carr if they don't make dumb mistakes and if they can figure out the OL unti McCoy gets back. But, I'm not all that confident that they will.

Daniels completion percentge is wild, especially for a rookie. some will say he's throwing a lot of short passes. but if it was that easy, then then why aren't all rookie QBs having those numbers? Bo Nix ix the king of short passes, and his numbers aren't anywhere cloase to what Daniels are.

Daniels is leading the NFL in completion percentage, thats impressive, now its only 4 games in, and i doudt he maintains that all year, but i have no doubt he will stay in the top 5 at years end. unless he crashes and burns during the season, he;s a shoo in to win Rookie of the year.
Malik Nabors and Brian Thomas are also having great starts to their careers. Man, if LSU had a defense last year, they would have been great...

I'm glad to be able to follow the progress of Jayden Daniels and see what his pro career will become.
It's so much easier to pull for him now that Washington is a Snyder-less football team. :9:

i am just glad he didn't go to an NFC south team, Dallas or San Fran. I like Dak, and i really want him to succeed, but i can't pull for him while he has that star on his helment, i want thim to lose every game..lol

You've never seen him play.
Check.

The RG3 comps are lazy.
