N/S Jayden Daniels! Discuss! (5 Viewers)

Takes 10 15 years for alot of these franchises to maybe get lucky to find the right quarterback. But way too many envy feeling on this board. Some of you thinks it just take 2 or 3 years easily after a full rebuild to get back into contention. Lol.

So you prefer the alternative — to trot out a mediocre team that can win 6-10 games but has no chance of winning a Super Bowl?
When was the last yr we went 6-10?? Go ahead and look it up, I'll wait. In 22 we went 7-10 . Tearing a team down and sucking on purpose just does not work , just ask those teams I mentioned

No one is bringing up Carr as an issue. It's the team around him and cap situation that cripple us as a glaring issue.

Carr is very solid, but this isn't the right situation for him to succeed.

As a whole, I think we are seeing that this Saints team is just too thin to be a realistic contender. The Offensive Line without McCoy is a disaster. We saw it last week, and now this week without McCoy and Ruiz it was just horrendous. Taysom Hill covers up a huge amount of offensive issues, without him moving around the formation, defensive fronts just sell out on Kamara and the OL isn't good enough to win when the defense isn't guessing.

It is crazy to think two injured players who are not QBs would cause this kind of collapse for the Saints offense, but that's exactly what happened.

I do think if the Saints can get into the playoffs and everyone is healthy for the playoffs? Watch out, this could be a 2007/2011 Giants type run.

In 2022 when we started 4-9?

Suck on purpose or not. They both suck.

You trying avoiding the inevitable is cute, but you don't provide any solution to our aging team at critical position with incredible tight cap issue.

Rebuilding isn't about just getting a QB. It's making over the roster with youth and going back to healthy cap situation
Our aging players that are starters are still playing at a very high level. TM and DD are still pro-bowl level players. Other than that we are not an old team. You can't count Carr because QBs play well in their late 30's. TH may be 34 but he has not played many yrs in the NFL. We have for the last couple yrs been getting the cap more manageable and will continue to do so. What we do need to do is hit on more draft picks more than anything else
No team without some extraordinary help had torn it all down and sucked to get a high pick ever really turned it around. They just wallowed in awfulness for yrs like the teams I mentioned

From what i saw at LSU he was an excellent passer.

The term or value of a qb being athletic is overblown. It only works if the QB is passer who has the ability to use his legs.

He differs from Cam, Lamar and Vick who are better at running than passing.
Yeah, I watched all but a couple of his games at LSU. He's a superior passer in every way over those some people are comparing him to. No idea why anyone would try to knock his passing. His arm is definitely a strength.

So you prefer what you got now? Taysom’s body is breaking down . Carr a bit overpaid etc.
Have you looked at QB salaries?? DC is not overpaid. I'd prefer what we have now to being a hapless team like Carolina, and Cleveland stuck with a 240 mil guaranteed QB that is either hurt or awful.

Commanders haven't had a winning season in a decade. Haven't won 10 games in a season since 2012 when they drafted RGIII. Since then they've drafted Haskins and now Daniels. And we don't know if Daniels is going to be healthy and maintain this success over the long-term.

But you don't typically just destroy your team and fall into a franchise QB as the Panthers are learning. Sometimes you have to suck for a very long time and go through a lot of QBs. Look at the Jets. Or the Bengals before Burrow.

A more preferable way is like the Eagles, Chiefs, or Ravens did it. I think we may be on the right track with Rattler. He has as much talent as a lot of these 1st round picks. Hopefully he can win the backup job next year. Then we'll see in 2026. I know I'd rather have him than Bryce Young right now.

Starting is not finishing. If you can't see that we lost the last 2 games due to major injuries AND had the lead with 2:00 mins or under as progress. Then I don't know what to tell you

If only we just simply committed to a rebuild post Payton and just suck for a year. Then, we be looking at 10 years of fortune with a young QB.

But Loomis had to prove he didn't need Payton to be successful. Then, proceed to put us in a worse cap situation than before. Bleh.

Some people just want to say they are right and you are wrong. They would accept and excuse unimpressive to bad games/years to do so.

Well, there are some excellent QBs coming out soon. I hope when we decide to get serious. I haven't scouted QBs since Malik.

Jayden Daniels doesn't play for the New Orleans Saints. Looks great so far, very impressed, not our QB. Never was going to be our QB. What's the point?
