Jeff Duncan: Saints problems go beyond the coach or QB [MOD EDIT] (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know why Jeff Duncan is going after Saints leadership? I just find it very interesting that this dude is so negative against the Saints when we're seen more winning from this franchise since before Mickey Loomis. I think Jeff Duncan and Sean Payton are friends. Duncan is really going after Loomis. https://www.nola.com/sports/saints/...cle_5a945d6a-9897-11ef-aad1-4792d2947173.html

It's behind a paywall but the comments on twitter tell it all.

The funny thing is that yesterday people were claiming that none of the local guys covering the team were willing to say bad things.

Loomis is an easy target, I mean much of what he says is true but like most of his writing, it's blatantly obvious......

I had family that worked with Duncan at the TP (and unfortunately are still friends with him), I can tell you unequivocally that CSP can't stand Duncan and vice versa.....

Box Nix did win an offensive player of the month award.
I didn’t bother trying to read the write up because of the paywall block, but the negative atmosphere surrounding Loomis is legit and way past due. Now that some of the smoke has cleared since Brees retired and Payton left, it seems to me to be pretty obvious that Loomis lucked up when he signed Payton. The blind squirrel finding a nut. And Payton, probably a coach that falls in the 8-12 range of head coaches, lucked up when Miami decided not to sign Brees and he landed in New Orleans.

Are you serious with this post or is your sarcasm not being detected? Because Loomis deserves every bit of b what he's getting right now.

How is that a hit piece? I thought it was minor criticism

What’s the issue with the parking lot? I don’t know why this killing me.

I remember last year…Jeff Nowak mentioning on his pod that sometimes the media couldn’t get parking spots because the players were just parking out front instead of the player parking lot. It definitely seems like a lack of discipline that went out the door with Payton.

Thought it was insightful and the logic is credible, though it’s important to point out some of the issues pre-dated Allen.

It’s alarming that he wrote about the same issues in January

If you’re a pc, click the link and then stop the page from loading b4 the paywall notification clicks in, it’ll stop it from loading fully and you can read.

Doesn’t work on cell phone
Regarding details, for Mac people (maybe also PC idk) turn off javascript in your browser and the article will load without the paywall (also without any pictures or graphics that might have been there).

The team (not including the players) deserve all the negative press and bashing that they get.

I myself for the first time am truly upset at this team. I feel until recently, this team has always done anything it can to win.

If they don't make changes this off-season, then I know the Saints no longer care about winning and care about DA, LOOMIS and his management team.
As someone who went to my first Saints game at age 8, I think the Saints have regressed to their historical norm of /not/ doing what good organizations do to win.

It looks like the aberration was having Sean Payton in the building from 2006 to 2011 and 2013-21.

I'm sure he wasn't the easiest person to work with, but sometimes it takes a difficult personality to get individuals to focus on the details necessary to accomplish something big.

Per the article the 2014-2016 teams had similar issues. Attention to detail wasn’t there and Strief was the guy who approached Payton about the things that were slipping between the cracks. That coincided w/ Ireland being brought in and a refocus on drafting being put in place. The 2016 and 2017 classes were hits and that was followed up w/ a lot of wins.

Winning cures everything

So the question prevails, since this type of thing happened under Payton as well, is it a Dennis Allen issue or is it a losing issue? Everyone drafted to this team after 2020 is pretty much used to losing. They lost under Payton and they've continued losing under Allen.
