The Wife and I were at some friends house playing some board games. I don't remember which game, some type of men vs women trivia game. But the question was in the movies category. Don't remember the exact question, but the answer was (Mad Max) Road Warriors. The women finally agree on an answer and they yell out Rogue Warriors!. That was 12 years ago. To this day, my wife still won't let it go that we wouldn't give them credit for that answer. Of course, I didn't make it any better when we bought a Nissan Rogue, and I had to bring it up the first 100 times we drove somewhere.

in trivial pursuit i answer "United Starship Enterprise NCC 1701"
and my dad said "no, it's the USS Enterprise NCC 1701"
wouldn't give it to me
hotdog i was mad

You guys wouldn't like playing with me. However, they really rooked that guy on Gangsta' versus Gangster.

Obligatory:

Yeah, that's a total hose job. I'm obnoxious, so I would have spoken up and said, "So you're penalizing me for mispronouncing his mispronunciation of gangster? Really?"

But it's not a mispronunciation. Sure, it's not grammatically correct, but Coolio actually spelled it the way he wanted it pronounced and the way he pronounces it.

Sosay there are two seperate entries in the dictionary for gangster and gangsta (with separate meanings), so Jeopary was correct in their actions.

Curses! If you're ever on Jeopardy, remember to be more "street", ya'll.

No. Remember to be accurate. If the question was about Al Capone and you said "gangsta", you'd be wrong.

Also, what in the world is "ya'll"? Is that a contraction of ya and will? It's y'all....tsk tsk.

But it's pronounced the same, so I get credit.

Actually the correct answer would be "The Road Warrior" "Road Warriors" is something else :hihi:

I remember last year in a junior championship game a kid got the correct answer, but misspelled i by one letter. He would have won, but it was considered an error and he lost the finals. Yet I have seen other games where a word was misspelled and it was accepted. There seems to be some inconsistency in the game decisions.

Is it possible to misspell "I" by more than 1 letter? I mean it is a 1 letter word.

Jk
