Normally i'm all for the problem child that is a great player. However in Shockey's case, he isn't necessarily great, and his team made a Super Bowl run after his injury. I know he's more talented than Boss, but his ego weighed down Eli. We have a disciplined team, i'd rather take a chance on a thug like Pacman Jones than a locker room enemy like Shockey who will down his coaches and teamates. At least Pacman vents his frustrations in strip clubs.

giving up 4th round pick is a good value for us.

Shockey is a good player! Better than any TE we have for sure......and trust me...his big mouth won't be a problem when Drew Brees is throwing the ball! I would love to see him as a Saint.....but I don't think Payton will neglect the defense again. And giving up a 2nd rounder on an offensive player will deprive the D of much needed help.
