Nobody is gonna trade for his 71M over 2 years salary and they don't have cap space to retain any of his salary once they get rid of Rodgers. Once a free agent I doubt he signs anywhere for less than 10M per year so I'd rather pass and use that money elsewhere

We still need an X receiver really badly. Moore got plenty of use out of Brown, Lamb, Cupp, etc. It’s the biggest hole on our team.

I think it frees us up to do a lot more in the draft and there’s not very many of these that come available.

I appreciate others have commented along similar lines already, but I still choose to highlight the fact that people too often base their support for acquiring a (usually declining/overpriced/injury-affected) player on the nonsense premise that they'll sign for a pittance.

Neither the player, their agent or the market in general will have any interest in lowballing themselves. Simple as that.

This is never more evident than in Jameis Winston talks amongst this fanbase. “Bring him back” and “he’ll come cheap” seemingly always accompany each other in that discourse. I’ve never seen a fan base love a guy so much while also wishing he never gets paid.
