Joe Brady withdraws from Saints HC search (44 Viewers)

Just remember podcasts and pay sites are a business. A struggling team with a crummy record does not sell subscriptions or gather likes. The offseason is a critical time for analysts to make money. Sensationalism is an effective way to garner clicks. Taking a positive approach this offseason is not going to attract many new subscribers. I’m not mad at them for trying to earn a living.
And these guys all know pessimism has sold in the fanbase for years now, even when things were better off

Honestly he must think
he’s hotter than he really is as
an a HC coaching but i don’t think
he’s all that. If any OC had Josh Allen
they’d be successful too. Anyway, my heart is not broken and I’d be just happy with McCarthy.

I think McCarthy is plan A and Mickey may be hoping that someone elevates to being plan A+. At this point a few more days can't hurt, might as well do his due dilligence with the remaining pool. I hope he gets to talk to Kingsbury too, before making any decisions.

That's how I see it too. Despite all the doom and gloom, it's really a can't lose situation for the Saints.

They would have to want the job first. Kijgsbury and Moore could easily just follow Brady’s lead and decide that it’s not worth it to leave a good job for this one. McCarthy is ok, but not exactly the type of guy who is going to really move the needle and that’s what we need. Major changes must be made.

And the world could come to an end tomorrow. But I don't see a point in worry about those things till it happens.

You mean to tell me that being a morbillion dollars over the cap, having a brutal amount of cap tied into a tier 3 at best QB, and an aging, declining roster that can't be moved on from would make the Saints an undesirable location?

Well dump a bucket of red paint on me and call me Elmo.
Morrilton?

Allen already made Daboll a head coach, and even Dorsey got a HC interview after his first season as OC for Allen.

It’s as if there is something else that is making these OC’s perform so well in Buffalo.

Ben Johnson turned down the Washington job last year despite them picking #2 in a draft with insane QB talent. Was that a terrible job that nobody wanted? Was it copium to think they would still get a good HC?

Guys turning down jobs isn't always some major indictment of your team. And one guy turning down the job doesn't mean it's a terrible job or you can't get a good coach. Obviously the Jets, Raiders, Jaguars, and Bears have always hired great coaches so coaches they don't want must be horrible.

And we still have 4 very good options on the board in McCarthy, Moore, Kafka, and Weaver so who really cares if people think it's a sheetty job or not? It's not like anything can be done about it other than hire the guy you think can turn it into a great job.
But don't you know the Saints are basically semi-pro team. Just listen to all the chicken littles
