Yeah. Everyone who decided not to sign I guess would have been the savior. But it must have been Mickey's fault blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blahAnd like clockwork this is being spun as being as bad as possible.

I think we have to lower our expectations for 2025 anyway.I'm not optimistic about our short term future if we can't get McCarthy, but I'll still be here and I'll still watch every game. But, I will significantly lower my expectations if it is someone other than McCarthy.
How is it sensationalist to point out the obvious? Most of the top coaching candidates are off the board and barely even considered coming here. It’s very realistic at this point that we have to hire Rizzi which would be extremely disappointing to the fans who wanted to see major changes.Just remember podcasts and pay sites are a business. A struggling team with a crummy record does not sell subscriptions or gather likes. The offseason is a critical time for analysts to make money. Sensationalism is an effective way to garner clicks. Taking a positive approach this offseason is not going to attract many new subscribers. I’m not mad at them for trying to earn a living.
That guy might be weaver. If so, let’s ride. If MM withdraws and we’re choosing between Rizzi, Weaver and Kafka, assuming Kliff bails as does Kellen Moore, then of Rizzi and Weaver I’d take the toughest no nonsense one. Someone that’s instills discipline and players want to play for him,.Meh? So a guy sees a job and thinks it’s too much for him and he bows out. So what?
If he just thinks it’s FUBAR and he can’t fix it then he’s probably right. He’s not the right guy for the job and has a failure of vision.
Plenty of very good coaches took on reclamation projects and turned everything around. Payton did for example.
Give me a guy who does want to be here warts and all and thinks that they can right the ship.
If that's true, then I don't know why they would bother interviewing Moore or trying to interview Brady.
I think McCarthy, Moore and Kingsbury are still a nice pool to pull from. Outside of Vrabel and Glenn, I don't think the Saints had real interest in the others who have been hired. How is it sensationalist to point out the obvious? They also now have a franchise QB. They have picked top 10 in the draft for how many years? Was Washington a good franchise 12 months ago?
Well, at least McCarthy is still interested. But, I do find it odd that they aren't going to interview him until after they interview Moore. I wonder what the reasoning is for that?
I think McCarthy is plan A and Mickey may be hoping that someone elevates to being plan A+. At this point a few more days can't hurt, might as well do his due dilligence with the remaining pool. I hope he gets to talk to Kingsbury too, before making any decisions.Payton wasn't the top guy until his interview, and he nailed it in the interview. I think that's what Loomis is hoping for. If he doesn't get that, McCarthy is not a bad Plan B that can get the Saints back into the playoffs again.
Yes, and this fan base is making it more attractive. They can come in here and screw up and it'll all be Loomis' faultNobody wants to work with the mess Loomis has created. But it’s an NFL HC job somebody will take it
I think Kingsbury is out. He’s got just as good a gig as Brady and is also still collecting a HC salary from Arizona. I don’t think he’s gonna interview here.I think McCarthy, Moore and Kingsbury are still a nice pool to pull from. They would have to want the job first. Kingsbury and Moore could easily just follow Brady’s lead and decide that it’s not worth it to leave a good job for this one. McCarthy is ok, but not exactly the type of guy who is going to really move the needle and that’s what we need. Major changes must be made.I think McCarthy, Moore and Kingsbury are still a nice pool to pull from.
