I thought the show was unoriginal and we basically saw the same show with Rihanna in the past, with over-the-top choreography.

Like I said earlier, they had so much potential to showcase NO music, but the NFL dropped the bomb on it.

You are no longer the demographic the NFL wants to appeal to. I know, it hurts. For so many years you poured your heart, soul and money into supporting your NFL team. And now? The NFL doesnt give two cents about any of that.

But i suspect you will still be upset, call in to WWL talk radio at some point, raise this same argument and cant figure out why the NFL didnt "showcase" music 61 yr old Flippy from Metairie wanted to hear.

I played drums since I was twelve, and pretty much listened to every genre of music. This 61 y/o from Metairie played at Jazz Fest quit a few times, along with playing at many NO music venues. You don't know a single thing about me... Only time I listen to WWL radio is during Saints games when I cannot watch any other time.

as i said above, the NFL doesnt care about your musical accomplishments, your tastes nor your ability.

What they care about is having my 21 yr old and friends camped around the TV for the half time show because THEY knew what was going on. And they REMAINED around the TV til final whistle.

^ that is what Kendrick’s performance was about. Since you’re an older white guy living in a bubble, I wouldn’t expect you to notice anything beyond the “choreography”. Black people live in a different America than you.

The country has had to suffer for decades though underwhelming snooze fests … I mean performances of old washed up rock bands and pop stars.

But that was THE WORSE halftime show ever. If there are other civilizations out there and they see that crap they’ll never attack us, because they be to busy laughing their alien butts off.

It can be hard to understand art if you approach it with no context whatsoever - I don't mean this as a diss, I think this is true for all of us.

I didn't really "get it" either until I read this story. I re-watched it after that. (I was also watching it live from the kitchen trying to make my off the chain shrimp/bacon/pepper poppers)
