Justin Fields, I'd roll the dice (17 Viewers)

Had no idea he rushed for over 1,100 yards in 2022. That is incredible.

Not my favorite QB but definitely worth a look if we can get him in here on a reasonable contract.

I’m having visions of a Fields-Kamara-Jeanty-Taysom four headed monster and just controlling the clock.

Maybe sign Mekhai Becton to fortify the OL.

I seriously think we’d lead the league in rushing, top 3 at worst.

Sign me up. I might do a mock draft with that build in mind. I'm not sure about Taysom's future, but Kendre Miller could be a nice direct backup to Jeanty and could get some yards.

I really like the Becton signing to plug that hole at RG.

Yep. Becton would be my top free agent priority, a “Get him in the building on day 1” type. He’s spent time at both guard and tackle. Think he would be a major coup and add some tremendous size to the OL at 6-7 365 pounds.

I don’t think we’ll be moving on from Ruiz, so the hypothetical decision there would be do you move him to LG or play Becton there.

You play Becton at RG. Becton and Penning on the right side with Fuaga and one of these massive OL guys from the draft on the left side. Ruiz either becomes a backup to C/G or gets traded. We need a Big X WR and this draft has a few (Tet, Savion Williams and Higgins), but I would look at trading Ruiz to the Chargers for Quentin Johnston. He's a developing Big X and was drafted by the Chargers when CKM was the OC. Ruiz played for Harbaugh at Michigan so they'd be reunited. The Chargers don't have a Center under contract and they have a ton of cap space.

Carr as QB1 and Fields as QB1B? Let him sit another to get the development he didn't get in Chicago? You could legit do some Hurts packages for him and have him take over in 2026 or 2027. He'll be 26 in 2 days on 5 March, that's extremely young. He has all the tools, size, big arm, running ability, durability, etc. Yes, I'd be for that. I've mentioned him as an option quite a few times on here.

I really liked him the year he was drafted and thought he'd be the best QB coming into the NFL that year. I thought he was bad in Chicago and just ok in Pittsburgh last year. If he was really the guy I think at some point his talent would have showed above poor coaching and a poor roster. It didn't. I think he ceiling is probably about what we have now in Carr. A career loser that needs everything to be perfect to win 10 games. If we could have him for $4 million instead of Carr's $40 million, I'd do it in second. But not as any kind of plan for the future. We need to draft a 1st or 2nd round QB and play them.

I don’t see it happening but I would welcome it.

I really don't see us making any moves at QB. All signs point to Carr starting for one more year with Rattler and Haener backing up. No need to take a shot at QB in FA or the draft this year imo.

He didn't look that good in Pittsburgh to me.
He wasn't good. They won games but not because of him. I had his WRs on my fantasy team and my neighbor is a Steelers fan. We were both waiting for them to start Russ and that was a noticable improvement.

Never say never with guys like Geno and Darnold in the league, but he hasn't shown me anything to provide hope.

He could be a viable one year backup. My preference would be to draft a prospect but Fields does bring starter experience in case Carr goes down.
