When did this "Karen" thing start?
A month ago? A year ago?
Why Karen?
Why not Cathy? Or Debbie? Or Julie?
super karen. almost, very, incredibly impressed.^ funny. Years ago, in the pre-Karen years a woman in front of me wanted a price check on an item where the difference was $0.60. I was next in line with a buggy full of groceries, and the other checkout lines were full. I think it was Thanksgiving week. I asked the cashier to not call for a price check and handed him $1. I said I wasn't covering the $0.60, but instead I was buying the time I would never get back from doing a price check for $0.60 savings. The woman didn't want me to pay it and told the cashier to give me back my money, and that she could afford it, but they had the wrong price. The guy behind me then took out a $1 and gave it to the cashier since she wanted me to have my $1 back. She got mad said to forget the price check and paid for it. But she did go to the Customer Service desk. I assume to get her $0.60 back.
way too many origins for how karen started. don't try and add to them. dork.I remember a few years ago it was “Karen from Accounting” but she was more just the generic uncool white chick. I think that’s the origin, and it organically mutated to just Karen, the ball-buster.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
