Kellen Moore expected to be Saints coach [Feb 10 — Fletcher Mackel: mostly done deal; intro press conference to be later this week] (79 Viewers)

You guys really think Kellen Moore isn’t doing any work whatsoever as it relates to this job, all just because he hasn’t put pen to paper or had his media press conference yet?

Relax. I promise you this is one of the only things on his mind now that the game is over.

Losing prep time is a non-factor at this stage. The work isn’t not happening just because there hasn’t been a formal public rollout yet.
Completely Agree 100%. He would have come out long ago and stated he was not interested or considering. At this junction of the process, it would be completely unprofessional to walk away from being considered. Just part of the process now. As for as combine, draft etc? Anyone consider the possibility of Getting Philly draft players, although playoffs, Super Bowl prep, willing to bet the talk is known by Coach Moore. might be interesting to see if players Philly were interested in are plucked by the Saints? Picking Last doesn't mean no value players in the 1st round? Just a thought. Along with Coaches being plucked. Saints-Philly Connection actually started after our 1st Super Bowl win I do believe. Ironic to a degree.

I am trying to enjoy the anticipation of it being confirmed. I've been kind of numb since the news hit that CSP was leaving. (I started to get feelings in certain organs the first two weeks of this season, tbh.) I was hoping that they'd get a young OC from a successful team and let him get "his" QB this season or next, and that certainly seems like what is happening.

And if Moore falls through I hope we just sign Gregg Williams for a single season, reset the cap and "settle some scores." (j/k)

Question? How much control does Coach Moore receive? As of now, Loomis, Ireland and company have taken over the reigns since Peyton left. Are they willing to unlock the lock and give the man the combination to crack open the safe? Or do they keep it portion of the combination and only give the remaining numbers based upon results? Thoughts? Full or Partial control?

Loomis promise Moore full control I believe

Yeah, the Brees years have turned many fans entitled. Could also be a generational thing. So many are used to Amazon prime and on demand watching they don’t know about just being patient and giving things a chance to simmer to let the flavors meld.

They also need to get off my lawn.
It's not generational. People who grew up poor don't want to return to being poor. We know what Filet and lobster taste like now, so eating beans every day or syrup sandwiches is no longer acceptable. Who does that?

IMO, I believe that was the Hangup with McCarthy. I bet there were I WANT IF ALL CLAUSE and Loomis wasn't willing to sell the Farm sorta speak.

That's what McCarty's people were saying to save face. The truth is that we just weren't that into him and it pissed him off that we wouldn't even give him an interview.

It is a generational thing but not in the way you might think.

Old Saints fans remember the pre-Payton and Brees era Saints.

It is 2025. It's been 19 years since the era of "aints". Nationally, the Saints are more successful to most young adults who watch football than the Cowboys.

A lot of people are simply not used to the Saints being a bad football team. Even outside of Saints forums, I saw countless comments from people who are fans of other teams going "the Saints used to be feared, what happened?"

A lot of people have simply forgotten what being a genuinely bad football team looked and felt like, and are desperate to get back to no longer having that feeling.
That’s an excellent point

Interesting nuggets from Insiders.

Rapoport says deal can be announced tomorrow and some people on the new staff know they will be in New Orleans and are just waiting.

Garopolo says some coaches had a leap of faith, passing opportunities to work with Kellen Moore.

All of them command the job Moore did the last couple of weeks, preparing the Eagles and also building a staff.

We may have been waiting but we are going to have a rainfall of news.

Actually, I think he's probably pretty drunk.

Exactly my point. Just because we couldn't see or get the intel, definitely does not mean things weren't being sorted out and setup behind the scenes. Prepping for your new job does not start the day you walk into the office. KM is not a rookie coach. He already knows how and what to prep.
