Kellen Moore expected to be Saints coach (29 Viewers)

DA is like our very own 28-3, the sad gift that keeps on giving.
laugh all you want, when saints were most healthy, we beat the brakes off 2 teams and lost by 3 at home to eventual super bowl champs who destroyed kansas city and finished post season play with an per game average margin of victory of 17 points.

I’m ready for it to be done so Moore can start assembling his staff and getting on with what needs to be done. He’s got a big job ahead of him but after seeing his unit’s performances in the playoffs it’s hard not to be excited. Hopefully Loomis does what he did with Payton - let his HC tell him what wants and needs and just have Loomis figure out how to pay for it. Loomis being solely in charge of player/personnel decisions has not worked out well.

All coaches are somewhat dependent on talent. But they also make talent better than they are. Hurts had what is probably his best year with Moore. And while he's a great all around QB, he's not a great passes and as ELIAS pointed out seldom throws to the middle of the field. Plus, the game plan and play calling has been impeccable regardless of the talent executing it.

We also shouldn't forget that the Philly offense fell apart in the second half of last year despite all that talent (minus Saquon) and Moore came in, fixed it, and took it to a much higher level.

Beyond that, he did a great job in Dallas which likely had less talent.

Yeah i'm not disagreeing with anything you said. Moore is a fun option for the next HC and im definitely excited.

It's just worth noting that this Eagles offense is stacked on levels we haven't often seen in the history of the NFL and that makes it a little difficult to judge.

One change Loomis needs to make is stop signing 30+ year old players to max long term contracts..
Even if the HC ask! It is a roster & cap killer!
He needs to keep doing what he did with AK last year.

A coach that knows how to use good players is probably the best we can hope for and what we've been missing for 3 years. Now we just need to get him some players to work with.

Sure. There is no doubt we need to build the talent at pretty much so every position on the roster. Hopefully Moore has an eye for talent because we appear to need some help or new blood in that department.

Although, I do sometimes wonder if our talent evaluation is that bad or if a lot of it has to do with it just not being developed and/or used properly? Other teams learned to deal with CJGJ and use him right. And obviously someone here missed how good Baun is or just didn't develop him properly. And then of course there is Hendrickson and Anzalone. It makes me wonder if our talent evaluation is better than I think but our coaching failed to develop guys?

I've been wondering that as well. What if a guy like Foskey is actually playable? That would really change our fortunes. Only time will tell.

CJGJ was always a stud with us. We offered him an extension but he wanted more money, became toxic so we traded him.

This is on Mickey and DA.

Hendrickson was a stud for us. Anzalone was good for us he just couldn't stay healthy.

Agreed.

It'll be very interesting to see how this next year plays out.

Excited for the future for sure.

One common denominator for Anzalone, Hendrickson, CJGJ, and Baun.

Thankfully he's now the DC of the Bears, so we should honestly take a strong look at any players they get let go of

I haven't been this excited since Drew was still playing. I hated the DA hire. I've hated the way the roster was managed while he was here and I hated that we couldn't develop any players for the last few years. I am so hopeful that the next era brings back respectability to the team and shrug off the attempt at becoming the Raiders that DA was doing.
