Kellen Moore expected to be Saints coach (56 Viewers)

As of now, from what I heard on NFL Radio driving home from work is, due to the chance of inclement weather, to include snow, that the parade will be Friday.
Sorry but this " wait till after the parade " stuff is NONSENSE. He does not have to wait for a parade to sign his contract and take the job.
He did have to wait till after the SB to accept

I know there was buzz saying rizzi was possibly heading to Denver, is it possible he still stays if Moore wants him or is rizzi gone for sure?

He’s gone. Why would he want to go from HC to ST coach here? And why would Moore want the last head coach hanging around? As soon as Moore puts pen to paper, Rizzi does the same in Denver.

I am trying to enjoy the anticipation of it being confirmed. I've been kind of numb since the news hit that CSP was leaving. (I started to get feelings in certain organs the first two weeks of this season, tbh.) I was hoping that they'd get a young OC from a successful team and let him get "his" QB this season or next, and that certainly seems like what is happening.

And if Moore falls through I hope we just sign Gregg Williams for a single season, reset the cap and "settle some scores." (j/k)
I've been kind of numb since the NO CALL. A few more days won't hurt.

I think we need to look at some of the rosters of successful coaches. Quickly, Siriani inherited a Super Bowl roster with a quarterback in place. Campbell inherited a talented roster as well and a solid quarterback in Stafford. Stevanski seems to be the overachiever without a QB, but they have talent from being a losing team for so long. Stanley is probably an obviously bad coach, but several guys have tried and failed to get the Chargers turned around. The numbers clearly show most coaches fail, but you can't discount the team's talent in the probability of success. You still need a gifted coach, but it's an uphill battle without talent and a QB. We must remember we hit it out of the park with Drew, Reggie, PT, and others. Allen was just a bad coach.
Sirianni didn't inherit a SB team , they won the SB in 17, he didn't become HC till 21. All he really had on offense was Hurts and Smith
Campbell , who I think is overrated did not have Stafford , he was traded in march of 21 and Campbell took over in 21. All Campbell had was Goff, Swift and St. Brown . He had a boatload of high picks due the Stafford trade and being so bad the yrs before
Staley is a good DC , bad HC though

For that exercise I’m going to edit my original post to show the coaches that remain from 2022

Oddly enough Bowles is the only defensive minded guy to stick and he may be benefiting from the division weakness more than anything. Campbell is 1 of only 3 coaches (Harbaugh’s) that doesn’t have an offensive or defensive background

So we are barking up the right tree w/ Moore.
Campbell does have an offensive backround, he's coached TEs and RB , just never a coordinator . Jim Harbaugh was a QB coach for 2 yrs with the Raiders

Regardless if your conjecture is correct or not, it’s not immoral. As fans we have this incorrect assumption, that coaches should be loyal and take one for the team. And players should be loyal give home town discounts. But the reality is, there is no “loyalty”. There’s “opportunity”. Sean’s best opportunity was to stay with the Saints while Drew Brees was here. Afterwards, his best opportunity was the Miami /Brady situation. And that Dallas situation if true. And finally the Denver opportunity which he took. The fans value is only this, “this is a good fan base, they are loud when needed”. Thats the extent. It’s a cold and highly competitive atmosphere. You’re either all in, or you’re picked clean by the vultures. Which is today’s scenario, until we totally restart with KM. This isn’t Debbie downer, it’s reality.
I agree 100% with you in that it’s not immoral in any way to explore your options. This is America and everyone is free to do whatever is in their best interests, especially professionally and financially.

I find we as fans tend to forget that players, coaches and even front office types are actual real life human beings with the same hopes and aspirations that we all have. I find oftentimes we hold them to ridiculous standards that we would never apply to ourselves professionally.

Who is going into work tomorrow and volunteering to take a pay cut for the good of the office? Which one of us is going to completely ignore someone offering us a job with markedly more money and benefits out of a sense of loyalty?

This is why we shouldn’t be upset at a coach leaving. Just thankful that he guided the team, which we are fans of, temporarily, to the best achievement in the sport. He owes us fans nothing, and never had. It’s also a reason not to deify a coach that leads your favorite team. He wasn’t doing it for the fans, but for his own career. We were just witnesses. Sean didn’t try to muddy the water either, he was always clear about his motives, he never really attempted to endear himself with the fans. The players are the same way. We’re just witnesses to them living out their professional careers. Look at CJGJ that guy shows every fan base that he can care less about them including his former teams. Lol

I 100% agree with you. I thought I read somewhere that he was going to participate in the victory parade but with it possibly being Friday...that would be silly on his part to wait until after that to come here and sign and have his press conference.

I think the stnkers guy must be a relative of Carr. He clowns anything that doesn’t paint him in the best light.

It’s cute

It's his brother Darren. Joined October 2023, and has never posted on any topic other than Derek Carr.

There are times where I have legitimately wondered if it’s Derek Carr himself hanging with us in his spare time. He wouldn’t be the first pro athlete to have a burner account to defend himself against the masses. 😂

You can't just never run to the short side of the field. If you telegraph to a defense you are only going to utilize half the field based on where you are between the hashes, you're done.

People used to complain about Payton doing that too.
I DID say you can't argue with the results. I just hate seeing that play. Along with the run up the middle its usually amounts to just throwing a down, and sometimes a possession, awy.
