Dan: Don’t run out the back of the end zoneI would like Dan on staff, the more knowledgeable guys on staff the better. Give him the QB coach job, that’s where Kellen started
We used it as a derogatory word. Not so fancy. I grew up with it.
I remember the board being split on Hendrickson. The 90% claim is hindsight responses since then. We were all wondering if it was a fluke season or if he’s the real deal. TRex with his short arms that many called a draft reach or wasted pick. He got a big contract that we were not willing to gamble on. Turned out he was the real deal. That the literal job of a GM. That's exactly what they do???
Trey also did not "run into easy sacks" he dominated with a 28% pass rush win rate.
Of course a GM should listen to his HC but you also need you form your own opinion. 90% of this board wanted him back. You look at the analytics, the film, etc and make a decision. Mickey made the decision to let him walk and it was a terrible decision we have been trying to recover from for years.
Okay then what is the point of having Loomis as the head of the snake and Khai Harley if they make 0 football decisions? If they can just avoid blame for everything then what do they actually do? They should be fired if they do not have the ability to make football decisions.SMH , myself and other people have explained to you how the Saints and quite a few other GMs work. ML just like quite a few GMs rely on the HC and the scouting dept for player evaluations . ML gives the HC and the scouting dept pretty much what they want because THEY are the knowledgeable football people. You think Roseman or Holmes don't ask the HC and pro-player personnel dept who they want to draft, re-sign and go after in FA??? It's them that have the most say.
Hendrickson had 6.5 sacks in 3yrs before blowing up for 1 yr and DA felt it was an anomaly that he was just an effort guy. GMs are not sitting on some throne saying draft this guy or re-sign that gut or I'm going to sign this guy form a different team. They get who the GM and the scouting dept want.
IS the GM ultimately responsible? Yes but only because he's the GM.
I gave you many examples of how ML works and who has the responsibility for what, but you just ignored them. The only thing ML is guilty of is hiring the HC and the scouting dept and listening to them. But guess what? The way he gives the HC what he wants is probably the reason Moore is going to be our new HC
I just looked at it, that he was just an interim HC not someone that had been a head coach for a while. Just thought as good of a relationship he had with the guys, that Moore would actually want him to stay. Not sure if any of our assistants stay, or if Moore wants any of the remaining assistants, but was curious if he kept Rizzi as special teams coordinator/Assistant HC definitely makes sense to follow Payton for comfortability tho. Also can see Staley or Nussmeier as assistant HC as well. He’s gone. Why would he want to go from HC to ST coach here? And why would Moore want the last head coach hanging around? As soon as Moore puts pen to paper, Rizzi does the same in Denver.

Definitely makes sense for sure on the locker room perspective. He was running the team for half a season. Players openly endorsed him for the full time job. Why would anyone risk a split locker room like that? It 100% will not happen. I don’t think he would want it either.
Revisiting the Kellen Moore vs. Derek Carr college blowout between Boise State, Fresno State | Sporting News
Kellen Moore and Derek Carr have played each other before and could soon be working together in New Orleans.www.sportingnews.com
I just can’t get excited about Staley. He never did turn that Chargers defense around in three years, and the 49ers basically had him in house for two years and hired two other DC’s instead to run their defense.Moore with Nussmeier and Staley would be as close to a HR as we could get this cycle (beyond Ben Johnson and Vrabel).
