Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Moore has begun working on assembling staff; Schefter: “Moore is gonna be Saints coach barring a setback” (47 Viewers)

I can’t remember for sure because it was last year and I barely remember yesterday but didn’t Kubiak inform the 49ers players of his intentions to accept the Saints job the week prior to the Super Bowl? I know the Saints officially announced his hire the day after the Super Bowl and he signed his contract at that point. But I seem to recall reports that he told the players in a team meeting on the Tuesday or Wednesday before the Super Bowl that he was planning on taking the Saints OC job. I’m curious if early next week we will here something similar about Moore.

Now that they have waited far too long to decide on a head coach, who will the OC and DC? I imagine all the prime candidates have been grabbed up already by teams that know how to make a decision.
Moore will be the offensive play caller. We'll just need another Carmichael. As for DC, no idea.

I'm hopeful (and am gaining excitement) about this hire. But if this somehow falls through . . .the meltdown on this board will be beyond epic. Like, biblical-level, scorched-earth type, end of all existence type shirt.
Yeah I won't be surprised. But I think that could motivate the team. It motivated the Colts in 18. But karma is nasty. Look what happened to McDaniels. Also DeAndre Jordan spurned my Mavs in 2014 to stay with the Clippers. Blake Griffin tweeted a pic of a chair in front of a door. And when he did join eventually he was terrible. They got the last laugh with Luka. Mavs went to the NBA Finals and that "great" Clippers team never sniffed one.

Let's check back in a few years to see how it turns out.....if you think Nuss is ever going to approach the level of QBing that a Burrow/JD is I think you are going to be very disappointed.....that is a huge leap that very few QB's make....

I think his ceiling is a decent starter in the NFL if he improves this year, but, I've been wrong before....
As far as JD is concerned, we need to see how he does next year with defenses figuring him out. And playing in a division with two teams that have ran that division the last 12 years is going to do a lot to his mentality.

It was the same dog and pony show. Everyone knew the tea leaves pointed in his direction, and we just had to trust the process and let the game pass by. People were on pins and needles worried that he’d back out, but that is such a rare thing. These first time guys that take these jobs are generally pretty damn pumped up about it where as fans may think they’re on the fence.

These new guys have waited for this moment their entire lives, and this is a dream come true for them. Not to mention the massive pay bump is akin to winning the lottery, even for an O.C. making a couple mill a year.

I am of the belief that, with our interviewing having stopped and there being no announcement as of yet, it is fairly obvious that we have received a verbal commitment from Moore, and plans are already being made behind the scenes on his staff, press conference timing, etc.

That typically happens to a rookie during the end of their 1st season, there is plenty of tape on him at that point.....

I fully expected JD to struggle at the end of the year and into the playoffs.....he didn't, he actually improved.....I think he will continue to improve and has HOF potential....we will see.....

Moore can’t officially sign with the Saints until after the Super Bowl.
Not only is that true, but it's also true the Saints can't make a formal organizational announcement until after the Super Bowl, unless the Eagles give them written permission to hire Moore, which they clearly aren't going to do.

Those rules do not apply to reporting by the media from unnamed sources. In the past, there have been reports in the nature of "X will be the coach, they just can't finalize or announce it until" and no team was penalized for those reports.

All we are getting from the press is "Moore is the (front runner, most likely, in driver's seat, really impressive) candidate." Not a single reporter is saying that "Moore will be the coach."

To emphasize, I am not saying Moore will not be the coach. I'm just saying that nothing that is known at this moment is enough to lead to any definitive conclusions.

The interviewing was scheduled to end after Moore, Kingsbury and then McCarthy before they went to interview Moore. McCarthy and Kingsbury pulled out. That ended the interview process after Moore's interview.

Anything about why that all happened is just speculation. There are several plausible scenarios that could have lead to McCarthy and Kingsbury pulling out, besides they were told Moore was the hire.

You’re trying too hard, relax brother. We get it. 😂

After the Cardinals were penalized a couple of years ago when they hired Gannon, I'm guessing that everyone is being very careful to carefully follow the rules and keep their mouth shut for the next week and a half.

You're making stuff up to avoid discussing the actual objective facts. I'm relaxed and speaking the truth is easy. That's why I'm not making up stuff about you like you are with me.

It actually seems you are the one that is uncomfortable with the actual facts. Why else would you dismiss me personally and avoid addressing the objective facts that I pointed out?

You don't hesitate to let people know when you disagree with them, but then seem to be put off by others disagreeing with you. Not saying, just saying.

Peace my brother.
