Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach per Garafalo, Hire not finalized yet due to SB; Kellen Moore in driver seat per Jonathan Jones (25 Viewers)

We still have a DC and other staff that can turn us down because of our crappy organization. FA's and draft picks too. Don't worry there are plenty of self-deprecating posts from fans and media still to be

Kubiak was not announced to us until after the Super Bowl. It was the source of a lot of drama on this forum with people saying our search was a disaster, no one wants the job, etc. Even though a little logical thinking indicated the team did have a plan, they did have good candidates that wanted the job, and they were going to get one that they wanted. They just had to wait until after the Super Bowl to announce it for league rule reasons. Sounds pretty familiar to the last week here, doesn't it?
I don't think Kubiak was announced until after the SB, however, we did sign assistants

Rashid Shaheed on this play? 🔥

I just hope that Moore brings some Anti-Injury Balm with him or else his future here will be just as hopeless as anyone else we could have hired. But frankly, I'm good with hiring any knowledgeable coach whose name Buddy Diliberto could have pronounced.

How much read option we running w/ Carr?

I think it’s ironic this gets announced just b4 the start of the Chinese new year. Year of the Dragon ends in 4 min and it’ll then be year of the Snake.

Kellen Moore is born in 88…a dragon year. Loomis is a Monkey…both signs are very friendly. This is a Loomis hire, he likes him much.
What's the irony?

Let’s go! We got our guy for the next era of Saints football!

A QB’s coach and offensive savant. I’m excited bc the way it happened with them flying to Philly is how good things happen for this organization. We rely on stories and we’ve been storyless since Brees left.

Speaking of Brees, I bet he had a hand in this.

New era. Buckle up Who Dats!

Era is correct. Assuming both McCarthy and Moore would eventually be successful here after a 2 year rebuild, I like the idea of having a coach who could possibly be in New Orleans for the next 15 years at least, not 5 years. Wasn't warm to the idea of New Orleans being McCarthy's resting spot until he's ready to retire from coaching.

So, can KM, assuming he is the pick, not start working on his staff until the hire is official? Saints were already behind schedule picking a HC let alone staffing the vacancies.

There’s back-channels he works through to do this and in effect it will be one of the many “league sources” or network of sources that will confirm the hire has occurred, along with likely his own agent.

Oh, I’m sure Buddy D would’ve got it messed up and ended up calling him Keller or Kelley. As will plenty typers on SR.

Now that they have waited far too long to decide on a head coach, who will the OC and DC? I imagine all the prime candidates have been grabbed up already by teams that know how to make a decision.

We weren't behind schedule since Kellen Moore is the guy. There is a very specific schedule of when coaches who are in the playoffs can be interviewed. The Saints followed that schedule. That's not behind schedule, that's on schedule to get the guy they wanted.

You don’t think a HC candidate like Moore would already have guys lined up?

There’s plenty of guys out there.

Heck, he may even have guys he’s coaching with this weekend already in the loop that he’s bringing them with him with promotions.

Doug Nussmeier, the Eagles QB coach, has moved with him at just about every stop he’s been to, so don’t be surprised if the former Saint gets the OC title.

I understand that, but it’s still behind the teams that picked their HC and started filling out their staff. I think you know what I meant
