Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting Moore again after Super Bowl, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling staff (66 Viewers)

I wouldn't worry about it until January 10th if it isn't announced then if you are someone who is going to worry about it then you may have a reason. I would imagine they would have at least asked for him for the courtesy of if he changes his mind to let them know right away. We are getting to that point where we need to replace coordinators and build a staff, and we are getting to that 11th hour. every day that passes will make it harder to get this going. We have about 2 and a half months until draft time, that's not long at all.

I think part of that is so the Saints don't get penalized for tampering. If they announce the deal is done, then the NFL knows we tampered and finalized a deal before we were supposed to. AND, it was the Eagles that reported Az 2 years ago for doing it.

Very key factor here. We have to be on our Ps and Qs with this one.

Add in the fact that it would calm Philly fans down if they knew their OC was staying. Plenty of reasons to name a HC before the SB. Plus all of the hoopla and media exposure the Saints will get, because they are the home team, it would be easier to deal with, if they had their coaching staff in order.
I was lucky enough to attend SB 31. Mike Ditka was announced as our next HC. The crowd went wild. We
were really dumb :)

"Grain of salt" as it has to be with all of these reports but *if* it's true he's working on staff, that's a strong indication it's all but official. Once you start involving other people and their livelihoods, you need to be certain about what you're going to do.

Exactly. And once you start involving people, that’s when the leaks and truth starts coming out. It’s like clockwork.

It’s been easy to read for days now. We just need to be patient. Philly is the last team you want to get popped tampering with one of their coaches.

I'm not saying Russini didn't hear what she heard. I'm not saying Ross can't speculate on that podcast comment to generate content for his website and his podcast.

But I will say, Kellen is clearly the guy. It is going to happen barring catastrophe. It's not 50/50, Elias. It's much closer to 100% than it is 50%, just by looking at the way the situation has played out.

We did this all last year with waiting on Kubiak, but some of ya'll didn't learn anything from that situation because you're so scared of disaster.

Agreed. Either way, you’d have to imagine that Mickey made it clear they’re willing to invest major assets to maneuver for a QB via draft or free agency (this year or next). Would make more sense next offseason with limited viable options this offseason, but we’ve been surprised before. At least all of the change we’ve been clamoring for will give us all a reason to be invested again… even if it takes a season or two to really notice.
