Kellen Moore most likely to be Saints coach; Saints meeting with Moore again after the SB, Kellen Moore has begun working on assembling coaching staff (128 Viewers)

This is not the year, that's why I'm open to dumping Carr and taking our cap lumps this year. Even though i think Carr gives the best chance this year have a 500 record. I'm cool with unofficially tanking.
I'm open to anything at this point, just make the hire already.

No thanks. Let Kellen have a year with Rattler Haener and see what he thinks of them. If he wants a new guy the 2026 draft will be far better to get that guy in, especially when we should have a top 3 pick if the season goes the way it should.
I'm curious to why people are looking to drafting another QB. Doesn't Rattler play the role of Hurts?? Much easier to run the read option with him than obviously Carr or even Heaner.

I like how Rattler is getting written off when he did get playing time we had nobody on offense to help him..or even a line to protect.

SP didn't have to start with a rookie QB. He was able to find a QB to run his offense, a castoff from SD who moved on to their shiny new QB. SP needed DB for his offense.

Fast forward to 2025, the game has changed and Moore is the modern offense OC. Fields was cast aside for a new shiny QB by Chicago. Moore looks to favor mobile QBs over drop back guys. He's still really young and Moore can build an offense around him.

Starting a rebuild without having to spend draft capital on a QB gives the rebuild an instant head start.

Very good analysis. I think the offense of the future is a more mobile QB, even if that means the QB is running around the pocket. Mobile QB's like Mahomes, Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, and Lamar Jackson buy time in the pocket to allow receivers to get open, keep drives alive by running for first downs, and keep defenses on their heels. But, they are also susceptible to injuries. The Saints had the first dualnthrest QB in Archie Manning, but not much else.arounf him.
I have not been impressed with Fields, but a change of scenery might be good for him. How are we going to get him with our financial problems and lack of draft capital?

Thanks. Fields is a FA and should only get a prove ot deal like Darnold and Baker got since he's in a similar situation.

They say when you need a QB you have to look everywhere. A quick look at Moore's offenses shows that he's only worked with mobile (Dak/Herbert) and a running QB (Hurts) so it would make sense that he wants and is comfortable with a mobile QB. Fields is taller 6'3" than Hurts and Dak, but not as tall as Herbert. He's also 225-230lbs so he's big and sturdy. Mentioned in another thread a poster said our QB should be at least 6'2" and 225lbs, I believe that as well so they can hold up through the season. Fields fits that description. He he also has good arm talent, bonus. He has experience at the highest level in college and experience with adversity in the NFL. He got the benefit of sitting behind Russ which allowed him to develop without getting beat to hell.

Now, to answer the question of why he'd want to come to New Orleans. Moore can point to the Cowboys, Chargers and Eagles to show that he can build an offense around a QB and his strengths. Fields should jump to that opportunity.

People will be like what about Rattler, well he's still young. Having a QB1 and QB2 with similar skillsets and only a year and a half about in age, but years apart in NFL experience isn't a bad thing. We are at a 17 game season now and will soon be at at 18 game season. Having an inexpensive QB2 who can keep the offense going should their be an injury is the smart thing to do.

I would say Jalen Milroe should be in high consideration. Big strong kid, big arm, fast!! Ideal dual threat QB similar to what Kellen Moore has in Philly. Very

Trade down trade back, get more picks. We need more than one player and the shotgun approach provides a better chance to land at least one starter. I would like Dart and a solid TE. For the 9 which would be within the realm of possibilities.
You get a better chance a busts as well. I never got that argument.

So it looks like Moore will want to move on from Carr, as many are reporting could very likely happen anyway..

Does this mean our draft strategy could be changing significantly in going after a QB?
So, Russini in an attempt to get clicks reports on her podcast that she heard a rumor that Moore had some trepidations with our QB room , and then said that he was ok with it. Then all these other internet reporters cite her podcast and repost this RUMOR and now you are convinced that Moore wants to move on from Carr. Is that correct?

Ima tell ya what. For the first time, if we hire K. Moore, we are getting a complete new coaching staff. To me, that brings the most excitement in years….
What’s your thoughts?
No, it will not be the first time we get a complete new coaching staff. It will be the next in a entire history of new coaching staffs.
