Kendre Miller’s conditioning (2 Viewers)

Actually, hamstring injuries (unless freak injury like being rolled up on) are mostly due to conditioning and muscle imbalances.

Focusing on mobility and strengthening the posterior chain are 2 things Miller needs to focus on heavily.

You’d think with players like Jordan and Davis on the team who have been iron men during their careers, players like Miller (if they want to be successful and have long careers) would be following their plans to the tee!

Yes, but Lattimore has had issues with his hamstrings since college and given his desire to be the best CB in the NFL I'm sure he is working on things to prevent them. So working on it, no matter how hard, is no guarantee that you fix the issue.

1. Look above, you can stay in cardiovascular shape while rehabbing a knee, i alreeady noted it.
2. I doubt DA was would call him out if he was simply dealing with injuries, The way DA made it sound, Kendre either showed up out of shape, or is lazy.

If you can't understand that, well then I can't help you, best of luck.

Maybe you can understand that being "in shape" by normal standards is not the same as in football shape and you can't get in football shape without being able to run and get on the field. If you can't understand, then I can't help you and best of luck.

Also, I don't quite get how everyone wants DA fired and says he's a terrible head coach, but somehow we take his word for it regarding Kendre Miller.

Can you explain to me how athletes in wheelchairs or sports of that nature stay in shape? Or if you’re paralyzed cardiovascular health is impossible?

Go check out the paratriatholon

Those people aren't in shape by NFL standards. Or can you not understand that?

lol this just isn’t true, go check out the paratriathalon, or the kid who just won the ncaa national wrestling championships with 2 torn acls. You can rehab a knee and still keep yourself in premier shape.

You’re prob not much of a fitness buff are you?

I’m simply stating you can stay in shape while rehabbing a knee.
I've had three sports related surgeries from powerlifting- torn triceps tendon, torn elbow tendon, and most recently in Feb., hernia surgery.

Somehow I managed to stay in shape while rehabbing my injuries. I did a ton of cardio and light lifting with each injury when doc cleared me.

It can be done. You just have to want to do it and do it the correct way.

Lol. It doesn't take a fitness buff to know that you need to be in a different kind of shape to compete against the elite of the elite in a professional contact spot vs. competing in competitions for people with disabilities or in NCAA wrestling. NFL coaches and NFL players have explained over and over again that there is a big difference from being in shape and being it football shape.

But, you're probably not much of a football buff are you?

And you have absolutely no information about what kind of shape Miller is in other than one off hand comment by DA. So you are really just grasping at straws.

And what is a "fitness buff" anyway?

Exactly, some people just don't get it. Also, kudos to you for busting your butt

I don't have any info on Miller other than DA comments? Lol, let's just say I know every single saints doctor personally, well, the surgeons at least, not the nutritionists and general practitioners.

And what's a fitness buff? You wouldn't get it.

Lol. I'm so sorry I wasn't aware you were so well connected that you know every single doc . . . oh, jut the surgeons and not the nutritionists or the general practitioners.

I'm sure the surgeons are intimately involved in if the players are in shape when they report to camp.

You know nothing about Miller's fitness no matter who you claim to know.

Lol ok

when hes out there hes got great skills, burst, etc. everything you want. but he can not stay healthy. its mind boggling. they need to hire someone specifically to work with him on it. he could be special if he gets his body right

He’ll be healthy in his contract year, have a good year and get a new contract here or as a free agent, then promptly go back to playing 3 games a year.

I think the whole team needs to change course of what they do in the offseason.

I don't know what the answer is to increasing flexibility to stop all these soft-tissue injuries.

Yoga, ballet, martial-arts training, I don't know, but they need to try something different.

The two aren’t mutually exclusive. The Saints shouldn’t have drafted Miller. The shelf life of a RB is too short to take a hurt one. The Saints seemingly have no idea what they’re doing when it comes to sports medicine and injury analytics.

But I live in the world of rehab, know many professional Sports physicians, and know people in professional analytics…there is absolutely something that can be said about how certain players perpetually stay hurt and how some stay healthy. I remember talking to some guys over a beer about professional rehab, and it was eye opening.
