Humor Klint Kubiak’s debut as Saints OC (2 Viewers)

Left his best players on his field for the majority of the plays. Kept them on the field in key situations. None of this “it’s 3rd and 8 and we’ve three-and-outed twice in a row now, but Keith Kirkwood and Lynn Bowden haven’t gotten a snap in too long so let me put them in at wide receiver” crap that Carmichael would do

I love how we didn't try to force the ball to any one player. He called a balanced game and it involved spreading the ball around in both the run and passing game and it kept the Panthers defense guessing and off balanced the entire game.
I like how basic the run game is but it's so tough to defend. It’s literally an extension of the passing game where you do not know if that is a run, play action or a TE bootleg.

Refreshing to watch. Lots of motion. Good mix of calls. More runs than passes.

Running to the right behind Ruiz and Penning yielded some big plays.

Carr had time to throw.

Kamara feasted.

Great use of Taysom.

All this and Carr didn’t have to rely on his favorite target, Olave. Even Mason Tipton had a reception.

What was refreshing was seeing AK41 used to his strengths and not just pounding up the middle over and over again. I have to give props to the oline because they looked solid. This offense looks like it was built just for AK41and if they can keep running the ball like we saw today with Alvin and Taysom and that defense keeps ballin like they did they will be a tough out for anyone. That’s complimentary football right there. What a game! Who Dat!!
Obviously a good gameplan can make an offensive line much more effective. When the defense doesn’t have to guess at the play you’re going to run, it puts tremendous pressure on the offensive line. Kubiak is using plays and schemes that actually help our O-line perform better than they are.

No other NFL team at Running Backs can compete with

Taysom
Williams
Kamara

As a whole.

Klint Kubiak must've thought it was a no brainer to come here.

I'll say it: this looked like a prime Payton offense. Spread the ball, utilize the run game, let your OL attack the defenders, confuse them with motions and running different plays out of the same formations, play to the strengths of your guys. How Carmichael never seemed to learn this from Payton while working for him for the better part of 20 years still blows my mind.

He learned how to substitute personnel and that’s it 😂

This is exactly what I was thinking the whole game. It didn't seem to be a NEW offense, just better play calling. You are right in that I thought of Payton's early years while watching it.

Sucks he be gone as a HC if we continue to have success. Ask yourself would u rather secure DA schematics or a successful OC? Dan Quinn or Shanahan?? A little early for that comparison but hey.
So what you are saying is that we should just win the Super Bowl this year while we have him?!?! I agree

I think Kubiak is one and one here if we make the playoffs, let alone get into the SB. I'm just along for the ride myself. Realistically playoffs is a successful year, especially if we win the Division. Anything beyond that is lagniappe as y'all say out there.

Kinda depends on how many HCs get the axe after the season.

So I mentioned on a thread how my husband and I were talking about how last year he would sit here and be able to call nearly every play -- like a lot of you. And so now we were talking about how he couldn't do that today. So hopefully he can't do it next week either.
